According to local sources, US-led coalition forces have begun setting up a new military base in Tabqah town in the province of Raqqah.

Poland is set to increase its military by 53,000 part-time soldiers

 

THE Polish parliament has given the go-ahead to bolster its armed forces by recruiting an extra 53,000 soldiers to ward off the possibility of a Russian attack.

The force, made up of part time soldiers, would represent a third of all the Polish military personnel.

The bill has not yet been approved by the senate but is expected to pass as the ruling right-wing government has a majority in the chamber.

The J-15 warplanes will take off from the Chinese Liaoning-CV-16 aircraft carrier, which reached Syrian shores on Sept. 26 (as debkafile exclusively reported at the time). Thursday night, China’s foreign minister Wang Yi, made this comment on the Syrian crisis at a UN Security Council session in New York: “The world cannot afford to stand by and look on with folded arms, but must also not arbitrarily interfere (in the crisis).”

Los Angeles creates ‘Cyber Intrusion Command Center’

LOS ANGELES, Oct 30 (Reuters) – Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, citing warnings by President Barack Obama and National Intelligence Director James Clapper about the threat of attacks on computer networks, on Wednesday announced the creation of the city’s first “Cyber Intrusion Command Center.”

The command center, which will be operated with the assistance of the FBI and Secret Service, will be staffed by cyber security experts who will scan the city’s computer networks for threats and quickly respond to breaches, according to the mayor’s office.
