TORPEDO THREAT: Russian admiral Vladimir Masorin said torpedoes are ‘a very effective weapon’ [Getty]

A US destroyer warship poised to strike the Syrian government with Tomahawk missiles could be sunk by torpedoes, a Russian Navy admiral has warned.

A torpedo attack could cause “considerable damage” to USS Donald Cook, a guided missile destroyer operating near Syria, Vladimir Masorin, former commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy, has said.

Although Russia probably won’t be required to “sink” the Arleigh Burke-class warship, Masorin said the weapon would be effective nonetheless.

Masorin, who commanded the Caspian Flotilla between 1996 and 2002, warned US President Donald Trump to refrain from bombing Syria over the chemical attack.  Continue reading

Do We Really Want War With Russia?

Since the article captures the point of how serious this situation is and is quite well written, it shall remain in full here for archiving purposes.

I wish I could say things were improving between the US and Russia but they aren’t. They’re rapidly worsening.

There’s so much happening right now, I can only provide a summary of a few of the more interesting and worrying developments.

This report builds on those I’ve released over the past two years and begins with a chilling editorial put out by the NY Times on September 29th, 2016, which further demonized Putin specifically, Russia generally, and openly advocates for military confrontation.

Hey, we’ve been down this path before.  The deeply conflicted NY Times has never met a war in the Middle East it didn’t support, and has never had any trouble repeating war plan talking points (that always neatly align with those put out by neocon think tanks) or even printing obviously fake “intelligence” from unnamed sources such as that used to justify the illegal US attack and invasion of Iraq. Russia builds huge underground shelters in Moscow as it prepares for NUCLEAR WAR with West

RUSSIA has built massive nuclear bunkers capable of providing shelter to Moscow’s 12 million people as Vladimir Putin gears up for a devastating nuclear war with the West.

The giant bunkers, which were revealed by Russian officials on Friday, are a response to mounting tensions between the Kremlin and Washington over Russia’s intervention in Syria’s civil war.

…Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that a US intervention against the Syrian army “will lead to terrible, tectonic consequences not only on the territory of this country but also in the region on the whole”.
