Headline: ‘The Rise of a German Superstate’

Britain’s departure from the European Union has ignited a new push to reshape Europe. Headlines are appearing almost daily warning about the rise of a “German superstate” and a more integrated, core group of European nations. To students of Bible prophecy, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. For over 70 years, Herbert W. Armstrong warned about a coming united Europe with Germany at the helm. The Bible explains that Europe will soon be cut down to a union of 10 kings who will give their power to Germany. Flexible Union with a European FBI

BERLIN (Own report) – Berlin is applying intense pressure in the aftermath of the Brexit, to reorganize the EU. Under the slogan, “flexible Union,” initial steps are being taken to establish a “core Europe.” This would mean an EU, led by a small, tight-knit core of countries, with the rest of the EU member countries being subordinated to second-class status. At the same time, the President of the European Parliament and Germany’s Minister of the Economy (both SPD) are calling for the communitarization of the EU’s foreign policy, reinforcement of its external borders, the enhancement of domestic repression and the creation of a “European FBI.” The German chancellor has invited France’s president and Italy’s prime minister to Berlin on Monday to stipulate in advance, measures to be taken at the EU-summit on Tuesday. German media commentators are speaking in terms of the EU’s “new directorate” under Berlin’s leadership. At the same time, Berlin is intensifying pressure on London. The chair of the Bundestag’s EU Commission predicts a new Scottish referendum on secession and calls for Scotland’s rapid integration into the EU. German politicians in the European Parliament are exerting pressure for rapidly implementing the Brexit and reorganizing the EU. Chancellor Merkel has reiterated her veiled threat that “reconciliation and peace” in Europe are “anything but self-evident,” should European countries choose to no longer be integrated in the EU.

More and more Germans are realizing the terrifying urgency of this age. To them, it’s time to stand up and fight!

Germany has been pushed to the brink. In 2014, it was about to pull Ukraine further from Russia’s orbit to form an alliance with the European Union. That is, until Vladimir Putin strong-armed Ukraine back into its place as Russia’s little brother. More recently, refugees from war-torn Syria and who knows where else have overrun the Continent—more than 1 million of them entered Germany in 2015. The police department in Cologne has received 581 complaints of sexual assault that occurred on New Year’s Eve—mostly perpetrated by migrants.

Europe, Iran and Bible Prophecy Come Alive in the Strait of Hormuz!

In addition to history and human nature, another vital asset provides insight into the tension escalating in the Strait of Hormuz. Here at the Trumpet we find it impossible to watch events in the Persian Gulf and not see the prophecy in Daniel 11. In verse 40, God says via His prophet that “at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships ….” Notice first, this event is occurring at the “time of the end,” in the days right before Christ’s Second Coming.

Next, consider the participants in this clash. They are the “king of the south”—the armies of radical Islam led by Iran—and the “king of the north”—the armies of a united Europe led by Germany and the Vatican. You can prove this by reading our booklet The King of the South.

Notice the word “push” in Daniel 11:40. In Hebrew, it means to push at, or to wage war. Think about Iran’s nuclear weapons program, its threat to close down Hormuz, its support of terrorism in Israel and around the world. Theprimary goal of Iranian foreign policy is to “push” and provoke, to aggravate and infuriate.

This prophecy was written 2,500 years ago—and it describes the present situation in the Persian Gulf perfectly!

Daniel 11:40 says that the “king of the north” will react, and eventually with overpowering force! We are beginning to get a glimpse of how this will happen. On Monday, Europe got tougher with Iran than it ever has. Based on Daniel’s prophecy, expect Europe to get even tougher and more confrontational toward Iran!
