Warning Signs a Stock Market Crash Is Coming

The Dow has soared 13% since Election Day, and just last week (Feb. 10), all three major indexes closed at all-time highs. The “Trump Rally” has been great for stocks, but some observers are starting to wonder if soaring highs mean a stock market crash is coming.

No one can predict a stock market crash with 100% certainty. But we want our readers to be as informed as possible about what could happen in the market.

That’s why we’re looking into historic stock market crashes to identify warning signs that can be used now. Continue reading

Yellen Says Interest Rates Will Go Higher

Janet Yellen’s remarks today confused the people who think the world turns on the Jobs numbers since they remain clueless with respect to the changing trend in employment. They do not take into consideration the technology shift, so they are still trying to trade from 20th-century concepts. Yellen gave an outlook of the U.S. economy and said that interest rate hikes are coming. Higher rates are needed for pension funds, and the decision will cause the stock market to take off which will appear like asset inflation. Continue reading

Martin Armstrong: Global unrest until 2032

(TRUNEWS) Renegade economist Martin Armstrong says America — and the rest of the world — will experience 16 years of civil unrest, not fading until 2032.

Armstrong’s statements were made during an exclusive interview with Rick Wiles of TRUNEWS  on Monday, while sharing his analysis of the war, civil unrest, and business cycles; and the future they predict for the United States.

In addition to four election cycles of civil unrest and social upheaval, Armstrong said economic power will have also shifted from the US to Asia by 2032, seeing an initial shockwave as early as 2018 — and going into full swing by 2020.

How China Will Trigger a Global Stock Market Crash

The Chinese government has engineered a global stock market crash that could strike at almost any time, but at most is no more than a few years away.

After all, we know the Chinese embrace long-term plans to manage their economy; they’ve used five-year plans since the 1950s. And we know China has spent years building up its gold reserves. Continue reading

Why Would We Sell one of our Stock Exchanges to China?

In the past, China has threatened to nuke the U.S. Dollar (which they are now doing, albeit slowly) and literally exterminate Americans on the homeland where they guaranteed hand-to-hand combat is around the corner.

You could always read the following for more proof:

War Is Not Far from Us and Is the Midwife of the Chinese Century

China’s Military Threatens America: ‘We Will Hurt You’

China’s leader is telling the People’s Liberation Army to prepare for war

It would be insane to let enemies of your nation inside the gate, but the United States did just that. You can only wonder if enemies were already inside the gate via fifth column and just let the rest of their team in.

A frightening article in today’s UK Telegraph suggests that another financial crisis could destroy capitalism as we know it. Let that sink in. Our system is at risk, as it was in 2008. As a reminder, consider this C-SPAN  interview with Representative Paul Kanjorski, wherein he described how our entire system almost collapsed. He stated in a very matter of fact way that if the collapse had continued, it would have been the end of our economic system and our political system, again “as we know it.” Continue reading

Why a selloff in European banks is ominous

Dark clouds are gathering around Europe’s banking sector.

Europe’s bank index has posted its longest weekly string of losses since 2008

European banks have been caught in a perfect storm of market turmoil, lately.

“The current environment for European banks is very, very bad. Over a full business cycle, I think it’s very questionable whether banks on average are able to cover their cost of equity. And as a result that makes it an unattractive investment for long-term investors,” warned Peter Garnry, head of equity strategy at Saxo Bank. Continue reading

Lowest Ever: The Baltic Dry Index Plunges To 394 As Global Trade Grinds To A Standstill

https://i0.wp.com/theeconomiccollapseblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Container-Ship-Public-Domain.jpg

For the first time ever, the Baltic Dry Index has fallen under 400.  As I write this article, it is sitting at 394.  To be honest, I never even imagined that it could go this low.  Back in early August, the Baltic Dry Index was sitting at 1,222, and since then it has been on a steady decline.  Of course the Baltic Dry Index crashed hard just before the great stock market crash of 2008 too, but at this point it is already lower than it was during that entire crisis.  This is just more evidence that global trade is grinding to a halt and that 2016 is going to be a “cataclysmic year” for the global economy. This Is EXACTLY What The Early Phases Of A Market Meltdown Look Like

There is so much confusion out there.  On the days when the Dow goes down by several hundred points, lots of people pat me on the back and tell me that I “nailed” my call for the second half of this year.  But on the days when the Dow goes up by several hundred points, I get lots of people contacting me and telling me that they are confused because they thought the stock market was supposed to go down.  Well, the truth is that if there is going to be a full-blown market meltdown, we would expect for there to be wildly dramatic swings in the market both up and down.  A perfect example of this is what we experienced during the financial crisis of 2008.  9 of the 20 largest single day declines in stock market history happened that year, but 9 of the 20 largest single day increases in stock market history also happened that year.  If we are moving into another great financial crisis, there should be massive ups and massive downs, and that is precisely what we are witnessing right now. ‘Death cross’ patterns spread to all corners of the stock market

Russell 2000 can’t hide from the death cross epidemic

“Death cross” patterns continue to spread through the stock market like an epidemic, even infecting market segments believed to be more insulated from overseas turmoil.

The Russell 2000 index RUT, -2.71%  of small-capitalization stocks became the latest victim among the major market indexes. The index’s 50-day moving average fell to 1,222.95 in midday trade Tuesday, crossing below the 200-day moving average (MA), which slipped to 1,224.11, according to FactSet. Continue reading

Harbinger Man: ‘The time is now to prepare’

Author and Bible teacher Jonathan Cahn says he has been so swamped with questions and concerns about the looming end of the Shemitah year on Sept. 13 that he can’t answer them all.

“We have been deluged with people calling, emailing, asking questions from all over the country, wanting to know what’s happening. So we decided to put out a video,” Cahn told WND via email.

Richard Russell Warns We Have Now Entered A Bear Market In Stocks And Fred Hickey Expects A Huge Rally In Gold!

August 20 (King World News) – The Stock Market Has Turned Bearish

Richard Russell:  “As subscribers know, I wish the best for America and believe that America is the hope of the world. Yet there are a few things that worry me.

I believe the US economy is sinking into recession as described by John Williams of Shadow Statistics. I believe we are in a period of deflation and deleveraging. I am convinced that the Fed knows the economy is contracting and this is the reason that they have not yet raised rates. Continue reading

An Expert That Correctly Called The Last Two Stock Market Crashes Is Now Predicting Another One

https://i0.wp.com/theeconomiccollapseblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Hussman-Chart1.png

What I am about to share with you is quite stunning.  A well-respected financial expert that correctly predicted the last two stock market crashes is now warning that we are right on the verge of the next one.  John Hussman is a former professor of economics and international finance at the University of Michigan, and the information in his latest weekly market comment is staggering.  Since 1970, there have only been a handful of times when a combination of market signals that Hussman uses have indicated that a major market peak has been reached.  In 1972, 2000 and 2007 each of those peaks was followed by a dramatic stock market crash.  Now, for the first time since the last financial crisis, all four of those signals appeared once again during the week of July 17th.  If Hussman’s analysis is correct, this could very well mean that the next great stock market crash in the United States is imminent.

It was an excellent article by Jim Quinn of the Burning Platform that first alerted me to Hussman’s latest warning.  If you don’t follow Quinn’s work already, you should, because it is excellent.

When someone is repeatedly correct about the financial markets, we should all start paying attention.  Back in late 2007, Hussman warned us about what was coming in 2008, but most people did not listen. Continue reading

When Scary Headlines Don’t Scare – Climbing The Wall Of Complacency

From “Scary Headlines Don’t Deter Investors” by Bernard Condon, originally posted by Associated Press,

The U.S. economy is growing at a painfully slow pace. Greece still threatens the euro. Chinese stocks have just pulled out of a frightening free-fall. Big companies in the U.S. are struggling to boost profits.

You might think it’s been a rough year for investors, but it’s mostly been a smooth ride – and a profitable one.

Money is flowing into bonds issued by the riskiest of companies, home prices in some big U.S. cities are soaring, shares of technology companies are still near all-time highs – even after a drop this week – and auction houses are enjoying record sales of art. A Picasso painting sold at Christie’s for $179 million in May, the highest ever for an artwork at auction, prompting one dealer to exclaim, “I don’t really see an end to it.” Continue reading

Ron Paul warns of coming stock market chaos as bottom falls out of market

Sharing his wisdom and insight on CNBC’s Futures Now program, Paul chastised the money changers for what he maintains is their endless game of “play[ing] havoc” with the stock market. The Federal Reserve has been in the business of artificially pumping fake fiat currency into the markets for more than a century, it turns out, and such activity is nearing the end of its shelf life.

According to Paul, the Fed’s “fallacy of economic planning” is responsible for all the market “bubbles” that are constantly waning and waxing between “booms” and “busts.” The instability caused by this Keynesian model of economics, he contends, will only end in disaster, whether it culminates in years, months, or even weeks.
