NSA and CIA is the enemy of the people

Astute students of history understand that government agencies often further their own interests and not the administration they are designated to serve. Seldom is the genuine national security advanced when bureaucrats pledge their loyalty to their respective fiefdoms of projecting influence and power. Absent in this supremacy struggle equation is the abstract notion that state legitimacy is founded upon the will and consent of the people. Such a quaint concept does not reflect a chapter in the training manual that breeds the spooks who operate as above the law and unaccountable super spies.

Guarding signals traffic or capturing foreign communication is a logical task to protect national secrets, while gathering information on intentions and operations from adversaries. Once upon a time the National Security Agency directed the ECHELON project as a cold war network. Over the decades the functions of electronic surveillance broadened into collection on all forms of data, no matter the source or the national origin of the subject. Continue reading

Merkel Knew German Intelligence Was Spying on German Companies for US

As stated before, the whole spying ‘scandal’ is the biggest spying non-scandal in modern times. The BND has virtually been in bed with the NSA since 1952, its year of inception. Because of German laws, the BND was never allowed to spy on its own citizens. This then allowed the German government to use the legal loophole of allowing the NSA to spy for them, or do the spying for the NSA as in this case, and then distribute the intelligence findings.

Why all the outrage then? You have to look at the bigger picture. In a nutshell, Germany wants the American ball and chain detached from it, thus enabling it to become a superpower on its own. It already has established its hegemony over the Europe and the EU, the largest economy in the world. NATO forces, while needed, are not welcome in the eyes of many Europeans and to turn such a non-scandal to an overly dramatic show is pure propaganda for the domestic front. This intentionally ramps up support among European citizens and successfully drives another wedge between Germany’s rising Fourth Reich and America. The government has to shape the thinking of people and manipulate public opinion before it can garner support to carry out its goals. What you’re seeing is a historical split and Moscow is also playing its part to drive NATO out of Europe as well.

According to the available information, the NSA was trying to get information about the multinational arms companies EADS and Eurocopter. This was contrary to German interests, and the BND had rejected the requests at that time. Continue reading

Russia says it uncovered spy satellites disguised as space debris

The station hosted Major General Oleg Maidanovich, of the country’s Aerospace Defense Forces (ADF), in a program entitled “Special Operations in Space”. Maidanovich told the program that specialists in the ADF’s Intelligence Center uncovered “a newly deployed group of space satellites” that were designed to collect signals intelligence (SIGINT) from Russian telecommunications and other electronic systems. However, the satellites had been disguised to appear and behave like “space junk”, he said. By “space junk”, Maidanovich was referring to rocket stages, old and defunct communications satellites, and various other fragments of manmade devices that have ended up in outer space since the 1950s and are endlessly orbiting the Earth.
