The giant panda is eating kiwi for lunch—and nobody seems to be bothered.

We New Zealanders are few in number but have slogged it out over the past century and a half to become the largest dairy exporter on Earth—sending out 95 percent of our product. Our dairy industry is critical to our economy. The livelihood of our country depends, to a great deal, on how well our farms do. Judging by what has been happening of late, that’s not so well at all.

Ballistic and cruise missile threat to U.S. island is increasing, congressional commission says

China is building up intermediate-range ballistic and cruise missiles that pose a growing threat to Guam, the strategic Pacific island that is central to the U.S. military pivot to Asia, according to a congressional report made public Tuesday.

Six different missiles capable of reaching Guam from China are deployed or in late stages of development, says the report by the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission. Continue reading

Shifting Tides of Military Power in the South China Sea

A 2010 article that foretold what was to come and now is here:

Is U.S. naval power in the South China Sea the unstoppable force it once was?

Thirsting for the oil in the waters that break upon China’s shores, Beijing has recently intensified its claim to the entire 1.3 million square miles of the South China Sea. Since China’s assertion competes with claims by the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei and Taiwan, it has prompted a pledge from the U.S. for increased involvement in the disputes to guarantee free trade and navigation throughout the region. But a Wall Street Journal article about recent military trends in the South Pacific region suggests that Washington’s pledge is insufficiently backed, and more so every month.

Bear Bombers Over Guam

It goes without saying as to why the U.S. need not suicidally reduce its nuclear weapons stockpile. Granted, the Russian bombers were older models from the Cold War era. However, it gets the job done in the probing of American defenses and reactionary maneuvers to learn the targeted country’s plans.

What’s more, it makes for a great dry run for the more advanced fighter planes the neo Soviet Union possesses that America hasn’t really gone up against and knows less about. Today’s times in the world are very dangerous, yet Americans are too busy following the Kardashians or the Super Bowl to care. So long as the American Shopping Mall Regime, propped up only by hot air, can still buy something, why worry?

Russian nuclear bombers circle Guam

Two Russian nuclear-armed bombers circled the western Pacific island of Guam this week in the latest sign of Moscow’s growing strategic assertiveness toward the United States.

The Russian Tu-95 Bear-H strategic bombers were equipped with nuclear-tipped cruise missiles and were followed by U.S. jets as they circumnavigated Guam on Feb. 12 local time—hours before President Barack Obama’s state of the union address. Continue reading
