A Russian spy plane with 14 aboard missing. Moscow cites Israeli fighters, French frigate in Latakia missile strikes

 

Hours after a missile attack on Syrian and Iranian military targets in Latakia Monday night, the Russian Defense Ministry said that a military Il-20 spy plane with 14 aboard went off the radars. It was 35km off the Syrian coast when its air base air traffic control “lost contact.”

No word has come from Israel on the incident. Some Syrian and Russian sources earlier reported that unidentified missiles had struck a military industry facility which develops missiles and chemical weapons, very close to Russian assets. Other sources reported that Iranian forces had set up a base close to the Russian assets for protection against Israeli attack.

RUSSIA is sending aircrafts to spy on Canadian military facilities as relations between Moscow and the West continue to deteriorate.

The unarmed planes conducted a five-day aerial surveillance mission across Canada, ending on Saturday.

Their instructions include taking photos and documenting the country’s military institutions and Canadian Forces bases.

The mission is being carried out under the Treaty on Open Skies, signed by Russia, Canada and 32 other countries in 1992, which allows each members to inspect others’ military capabilities and activities to foster an atmosphere of mutual trust.

A RUSSIAN spy plane has been spotted flying low over Lancashire as tensions between Vladimir Putin and the West mount to near emergency levels.

The Antonov An-30, armed with five high-resolution cameras, was spotted by photographer Steve Bradley, 41, who was astonished to see it over his garden in Colne, Lancashire.

It comes as British Typhoon jets were forced to intercept a Russian spy plane last week and escort it away from UK airspace.

In the last month, three Russian warships have been monitored sailing through the English Channel.
