Putin Puts Russia’s Northern Fleet On Full Combat Alert In The Arctic Amid Security Concerns

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the country’s Northern Fleet to full combat alert as part of snap inspections, local media reported, citing Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The defense minister reportedly added that the five-day military drills in the Arctic come amid concerns over new security threats faced by the country.

MOSCOW, January 11 (Sputnik) — The Strategic Missile Forces (SMF) of Russia are planning to conduct over 100 drills at various levels in 2015, SMF spokesperson Col. Igor Yegorov said Sunday.

Russia to carry out large-scale military drills in 2015

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia said on Monday it would carry out more than 4,000 military drills next year, with the largest involving “tens of thousands” of servicemen next summer.

“The exercises will take place in the summer period simultaneously on several training grounds within Russia and abroad,” Yaroslav Roshupkin, a spokesman for Russia’s Central Military District, said of the planned “Centre 2015” drills.

ASHULUK, August 6 (RIA Novosti) – Drills at the Ashuluk firing range in Russia’s southern region of Astrakhan entered their active phase on Wednesday, with the Russian military preparing to train for conflict between two imaginary states.

Russian Bombers Fly Within 50 Miles of California Coast

People will easily dismiss the danger in this. What they will typically say is that these bombers are old and outdated. However, what they’re missing is the fact that they’re within striking range. They don’t have to be over the continental United States or even 50 miles from it. The danger lies within the nuclear-armed missiles they carry that have the reach and speed to hit multiple targets within 2 – 5 minutes across the western part of the US in this case. Imagine 20 military bases being knocked out within 30 minutes time.

Add to the fact that there is no missile defense on the west coast and Alaska’s missile defense won’t help at all when the enemies are already past their enemy’s defensive lines. Russia is also using outdated bombers for dry runs. Who knows what they have behind closed doors in regards to modern strategic bombers that might be able to fly over any part of the entire American homeland and strike.

 

U.S. F-22, F-15 jets intercept four Bear H bombers near Alaska, Northern California

Four Russian strategic bombers triggered U.S. air defense systems while conducting practice bombing runs near Alaska this week, with two of the Tu-95 Bear H aircraft coming within 50 miles of the California coast, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (Norad) confirmed Wednesday.

“The last time we saw anything similar was two years ago on the Fourth of July,” Navy Capt. Jeff Davis, a Norad spokesman, told the Free Beacon.

Davis said the latest Bear H incursions began Monday around 4:30 p.m. Pacific time when radar detected the four turbo-prop powered bombers approaching the U.S. air defense zone near the far western Aleutian Islands.

Russian Paratroopers Hold Massive Drills as Crimea Vote Nears

MOSCOW, March 11 (RIA Novosti) – An airborne division based in central Russia began large-scale exercises Tuesday against the backdrop of an ongoing political and security crisis in Ukraine.

The Defense Ministry said units of the 98th Guards Airborne Division, based in Ivanovo, a city east of Moscow, were put on high alert and moved to unspecified locations to “check readiness” in simulated combat conditions.

Russia’s Putin tells army to shape up for foreign threat

While the military threat currently emanating from Moscow may not be immediate, it’s purpose is five 5% sabre rattling and 95% conditioning for immediate combat readiness for an immanent war in the near future. Meanwhile, America is lulled into a false sense of security and still twittering about the Oscars, while its defensive and offensive capabilities are stripped/disarmed by its top leadership.

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Vladimir Putin ordered military leaders on Wednesday to make urgent improvements to the armed forces during his new presidential term, saying Russia must thwart attempts by the West to tip the strategic balance of power.

“Attempts are being made to tip the strategic balance,” said Putin, who as president is commander-in-chief of the armed forces, told his audience at the General Staff academy on Moscow’s outskirts. The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, sat in the front row.

“Geopolitical dynamics call for a quick and considered response … Russia’s armed forces must move on to a new level of capabilities in the next three to five years,” said Putin, who has not ruled out seeking another term in 2018.
