WW3 Just 300 Miles Off US Mainland? Russian Growler On Alert In The Arctic

 

World War 3 might not erupt in Syria, over South China Sea and even in Turkey, as what many believe. The looming third world war may be brewing just 300 miles from the U.S. mainland. Russia has stationed two S-400 advanced Growler surface-to-air missile systems in six polar bases within the border of U.S. in the arctic.

An anonymous source from the Russian Armed Forces revealed that Russian S-400 growlers were deployed to the Novaya Zemlya archipelago and the port of Tiksi in the Arctic Ocean. The growlers stationed at the Wrangle Island and Cape Schmidt in Chukotka are put on war alert round the clock, the source told TASS. These bases mentioned were just within 300 miles from the U.S. mainland.

Russian Presence Near Undersea Cables Concerns U.S.

Note that this is only a reaction to what has already been happening months ago, as mentioned last September. U.S. officials then voiced concern over a high-tech Russian deep-sea spy vessel gathering intelligence from America’s nuclear submarine bases, which also happened to be equipped with cable cutting equipment. It was built to identify undersea communications trunk lines and nodes.

 

WASHINGTON — Russian submarines and spy ships are aggressively operating near the vital undersea cables that carry almost all global Internet communications, raising concerns among some American military and intelligence officials that the Russians might be planning to attack those lines in times of conflict.

The issue goes beyond old Cold War worries that the Russians would tap into the cables — a task American intelligence agencies also mastered decades ago. The alarm today is deeper: In times of tension or conflict, the ultimate Russian hack on the United States could involve severing the fiber-optic cables at some of their hardest-to-access locations to halt the instant communications on which the West’s governments, economies and citizens have grown dependent.

US: Russia Building ‘Arc Of Steel’ From Arctic To Med

WASHINGTON — A resurgent Russia is creating an “arc of steel” meant to challenge and confront NATO, a top US naval officer warned Tuesday.

“We are observing the manifestation of a more aggressive, more capable Russian Navy,” Adm. Mark Ferguson, commander of US Naval Forces Europe and commander of the Allied Joint Force Command in Naples, said in Washington. “It is naval capability focused directly on addressing the perceived advantages of NATO navies. And they are signaling us and warning us that the maritime domain is contested.”
