Russia pilots independent post-boost vehicles for more precise and flexible multiple warhead delivery.

Russia tested a new and experimental type of intercontinental-range ballistic missile multiple warhead delivery method in September 2017, the Diplomat has learned.

According to a U.S. government source with knowledge of a recent U.S. intelligence assessment of Russian ballistic missile testing who spoke to the Diplomat, Russia’s strategic missile force recently tested an independent post-boost vehicle (IPBV) configuration for a three-warhead version of its solid-fuel, road-mobile RS-24 Yars ICBM. Russian designers have begun to create new elements of “Barguzin” — Russia’s combat railway missile complex (BZhRK) aimed at transporting and launching strategic nuclear missiles.

Citing a military source with the knowledge of the matter, Russian Regnum news agency wrote that the project’s exact completion date would be announced in early 2018. Back in 2014, Strategic Missile Forces Commander Col. Gen. Sergei Karakayev told journalists that the sketches of Russia’s future railway-based missile complex had been finalized.

Russia Says It Will Have Radar-Evading Nukes by 2021

So long as the American Shopping Mall Regime can still buy things and the World Cup serves as the distraction de jour, the threat just won’t sink into the minds of the public. If it does, they likely won’t care.

‘The sword is coming.’

Russia on Friday said it plans to finish modernizing its nuclear-capable missile forces within several years, ITAR-Tass reports.

By 2016, the share of new missile systems will reach nearly 60 percent, and by 2021 their share will increase to 98 percent,” said Col. Igor Yegorov, a defense ministry spokesman for Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces. The project would replace Russia’s active-duty, nuclear-ready missiles left over from the Cold War. Continue reading

Russia Tests Multi-Warhead ICBM

Russia’s military carried out a flight test of a new multi-warhead intercontinental ballistic missile on Monday amid growing tensions with the United States over the crisis in Ukraine.

The SS-27 Mod 2 road-mobile ICBM was launched around 2:40 a.m. EST from Russia’s Plesetsk launch facility, located about 500 miles north of Moscow.

“The main purpose of the launch is to validate the reliability of a batch of this class of missiles made at the Votkinsk Plant,” Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Yegorov told state-run Interfax-AVN.

An unspecified number of simulated nuclear warheads landed at an impact range on the Kura test range on the Kamchatka Peninsula, in the Russian Far East, Yegorov said. The distance is around 3,500 miles.

The SS-27 Mod 2 is Russia’s newest ICBM and has been touted by Russian officials as designed specifically to defeat U.S. missile defenses. Continue reading

Russia to Deploy 22 New Ballistic Missiles in 2014

The Russians have and never will take mutual disarmament (of themselves) sersiously. Mutual disarmament in the Russian mind is that the USA disarms while they modernize, expand, deploy, improve capability as well as gain a first-strike capability advantage over America. People who thought this was taken seriously by the Soviets have only bought New Lies for Old through a Perestroika Deception. They have utterly no clue how the other side thinks and see things through American eyes, rather than strategically through Russian eyes with a long-term deception plan. The cost of willed ignorance will be high.

SOCHI, November 27 (RIA Novosti) – Twenty-two land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles will next year be added to Russia’s nuclear arsenal, President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday.

“We intend to continue prioritizing the development of the main component of our strategic nuclear deterrent,” Putin said at a meeting on the development of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces. Continue reading
