US to lack full space launch capability beyond 2019 without Russian engine

In January, the US Air Force awarded contracts to Orbital ATK and SpaceX to develop prototypes of US-built rocket engines to replace the RD-180.

China Tests New Rocket, Gets Ready to Build Lunar Base on Dark Side of Moon

It looks like the Chinese are going to the dark side of the moon, as their scientists have successfully tested the power system of a Long March-5 carrier rocket on Monday that will serve the Chang’e-5 lunar mission in 2017, Xinhua reported.

The engines of the rocket were launched from the ground. It was a good final test before the actual rocket launch next year, according to the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense.

The Voice of America writes today about the expectations of Russia regarding the upcoming Syrian negotiations. Recent efforts made by the United Nations to resolve the crisis in Syria could lead to success in a united struggle against Islamic State. The fact is that the destabilization of the situation around ISIS is becoming a threat to the global community, and attempts by Syrian factions to join the terrorist organization, can serve as a prerequisite for the West and Russia to seek common solutions to the crisis.

Islamic State, a radical Sunni Muslim organization, holds militias in Syria and Iraq, and remains the most unpredictable force in the world, which threatens the stability of many countries in the Middle East.
