The feud between President-elect Donald Trump and President Barack Obama’s intelligence agencies escalated last week when Trump asked if CIA Director John Brennan was behind the leak of an unverified dossier on the president-elect.

Hours after Brennan bashed Trump in an interview with Fox News, the president-elect responded by suggesting that the CIA director, on his way out the door, may have been behind the publication last week of unverified and salacious intelligence connecting Trump to Russia. Continue reading

China Seen Readying for Trade War During Trump Presidency

“In the event of a trade war with the United States, China’s response would go well beyond tariff increases,” said Mark Williams, Chief Asia Economist for Capital Economics. “U.S. companies would find their products and operations in China subject to tighter regulation that hampered their capacity to do business there.”

“U.S. exports of cars and aircraft would be in the firing line,” he said. China might also subject U.S. companies to tighter regulation that hampers their capacity to do business. Putin: Russia Has Weapons Capable of Penetrating Any Missile Defenses

Russia will strengthen its strategic nuclear potential in response to the deployment of US missile defense systems, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday.

“Russia will take necessary retaliatory measures to strengthen the capacity of its strategic nuclear forces. We will work on our missile defense system as well. Initially, as we have repeatedly said, we will work on the strike systems able to overcome any missile defenses,” Putin said at a meeting on the situation in the Russian military-industrial complex.
