Defense Science Board warns military supply system ‘decayed’ and needs rapid upgrading

The strategic American military system for moving troops, weapons, and supplies over long distances has decayed significantly and needs rapid upgrading to be ready for any future war with China or Russia, according to a report by the Pentagon’s Defense Science Board.

A special task force on survivable logistics evaluated the military’s current airlift, sealift, and prepositioned equipment and supplies and found major problems with supporting forces during a “high-end” conflict. Continue reading

If the order comes, the B-52s will return to a ready-to-fly posture not seen since the Cold War.

BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. —  The U.S. Air Force is preparing to put nuclear-armed bombers back on 24-hour ready alert, a status not seen since the Cold War ended in 1991.

That means the long-dormant concrete pads at the ends of this base’s 11,000-foot runway — dubbed the “Christmas tree” for their angular markings — could once again find several B-52s parked on them, laden with nuclear weapons and set to take off at a moment’s notice.

Is the US Army Near a Breaking Point?

It’s very difficult to believe historical cuts, while the Sino-Soviet axis is modernizing and strengthening their militaries — even through severe economic crises — are in America’s national security interests. America’s nuclear deterrent is collecting dust and becoming outdated, plagued by cheating scandals and the purging of critical personnel. Meanwhile, outside the nuclear deterrent realm, other high ranking officers are being forced into early retirement for daring to go against the grain and admit the war against ISIS is being lost. In conclusion, it’s by design, and going according to plan.

The end of the world isn’t coming, but rather Pax Americana. When America finishes suiciding itself into the dustbin of history, the new world leaders filling the vacuum are going to be Germany, China and Russia.

 

China-Japan island dispute: Beijing orders helicopter units to be combat ready

The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) planned to change the training strategy of its army aviation unit as more and more armed helicopters joined the service, PLA Daily which is the official newspaper of the military quoted an army aviation unit as saying.

The focus of army aviation unit will be shifted from logistics missions to combat ones, from building the capacity for non-war military actions to core military actions, state-run Xinhua news agency quoted the daily as saying. Continue reading
