Reuters Poll Reveals Americans Can No Longer Think for Themselves

 

Watching the nation go crazy over the election, jumping on one side of the coin or the other and mindlessly defending their team with total disregard for other perspectives, genuine facts or valid ideas, one has to wonder if the typical American is even capable of thinking for themselves. A recent national poll sheds insight into this question.

A new Reuters’ poll looking at what they call the ‘Trump Effect’ finds that the American people tend to base their opinions on important issues on previously held partisan affiliations and opinions, showing that many do not engage in critical or logical thought when considering such issues.

EU Referendum: Massive swing to Brexit – with just 12 days to go

Exclusive: polling carried out for ‘The Independent’ shows that 55 per cent of UK voters intend to vote for Britain to leave the EU in the 23 June referendum

The campaign to take Britain out of the EU has opened up a remarkable 10-point lead over the Remain camp, according to an exclusive poll for The Independent.

The survey of 2,000 people by ORB found that 55 per cent believe the UK should leave the EU (up four points since our last poll in April), while 45 per cent want it to remain (down four points). These figures are weighted to take account of people’s likelihood to vote. It is by far the biggest lead the Leave camp has enjoyed since ORB began polling the EU issue for The Independent a year ago, when it was Remain who enjoyed a 10-point lead. Brexit looks more likely after dramatic narrowing in EU referendum poll

Support for Britain remaining in the European Union falls by 16 points in latest Ipsos Mori poll

Britain’s potential exit from the European Union looked increasingly likely today as a new poll dramatically cut the “stay” campaign’s lead by 16 points.

In June 2015 support for Britain remaining in the EU had reached its highest point since 2000 with 61 per cent of people backing the country’s membership compared to just 27 per cent favouring an exit.

Swedish support for joining Nato swells

More Swedes are now in favour of their country joining Nato than are against the idea, according to a new survey by pollsters Novus.

37 percent of Swedes questioned said they supported joining Nato compared with 36 percent who were against the idea.

It is the first time a survey has suggested that a larger proportion of Swedes back joining Nato as opposed to keeping out of the organisation.
