MOSCOW (AP) — The world is facing a rising threat of a nuclear war because of the U.S. pullout from arms control treaties and its destabilizing military plans, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday

Pentagon to boost U.S. weapons under nuclear posture review

Russia is aggressively building up its nuclear forces and is expected to deploy a total force of 8,000 warheads by 2026 along with modernizing deep underground bunkers, according to Pentagon officials.

The 8,000 warheads will include both large strategic warheads and thousands of new low-yield and very low-yield warheads to circumvent arms treaty limits and support Moscow’s new doctrine of using nuclear arms early in any conflict.

In addition to expanding its warheads, Russia also is fortifying underground facilities for command and control during a nuclear conflict. Continue reading

Russia builds huge underground shelters in Moscow as it prepares for NUCLEAR WAR with West

RUSSIA has built massive nuclear bunkers capable of providing shelter to Moscow’s 12 million people as Vladimir Putin gears up for a devastating nuclear war with the West.

The giant bunkers, which were revealed by Russian officials on Friday, are a response to mounting tensions between the Kremlin and Washington over Russia’s intervention in Syria’s civil war.

…Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that a US intervention against the Syrian army “will lead to terrible, tectonic consequences not only on the territory of this country but also in the region on the whole”.

U.S. intelligence detects dozens of hardened bunkers for leaders

Russia is building large numbers of underground nuclear command bunkers in the latest sign Moscow is moving ahead with a major strategic forces modernization program.

U.S. intelligence officials said construction has been underway for several years on “dozens” of underground bunkers in Moscow and around the country.

Disclosure of the underground command bunkers comes as Army Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, commander of U.S. European Command, warned recently that Russia has adopted a nuclear use doctrine he called “alarming.” Continue reading

It was an interesting week last week. For one thing, Chinese company Alibaba debuted as the largest IPO in the history of the world. Larger than the Initial Public Offerings of Facebook, Twitter, Google, Apple, and Microsoft combined. At the same time, there was a Senate report indicating that China hacked U.S. military contractors in a significant way at least twenty times in the past year. In America, we celebrated the success of Wall Street, earning $300 million or so in underwriter fees. Admiral Warns that Risk of Nuclear Conflict Is Growing

Any nuclear conflict against the United States will be likely one-sided, as the Obama administration is making sure the only country in the world to reduce nuclear weapons according to his ‘Global Zero’ plan, is only the United States.

America has had all the warnings in the world but has willingly closed its eyes and covered its ears while developing the illusion that total disarmament would be a demonstration of moral strength, while failing to realize that its enemies don’t think like America.

 

Stratcom: Large-scale Russian strategic nuclear buildup has been underway for over a decade

Russia is engaged in a large-scale buildup of strategic nuclear forces that has been underway for a decade, the commander of the U.S. Strategic Command (Stratcom) told Congress on Wednesday.

“Russia has maintained and continues to modernize their strategic deterrent capability,” Adm. Cecil Haney, the Stratcom commander told the House Armed Services Committee.
