Russian paratroopers, post-Soviet security bloc forces to drill landing on Arctic ice floe

Paratroopers from Russia’s Ivanovo and Pskov airborne divisions and rapid reaction forces from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states are preparing for landing on a drifting Arctic ice floe, Russian Airborne Force spokesman Yevgeny Meshkov said on Monday.

The command staff of the brigade is taking advanced training at military training centers

MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Forces of the Western, Central and Eastern Military Districts will be transferred to the new united strategic command in the Arctic by December 15.

The entire Northern Fleet will be transferred to the command, a high-ranking defense ministry source told TASS on Wednesday.
