Hawaii Begins Missile Attack Drills

Hawaii will begin including missile attack warning sirens to its monthly tests on Dec. 1, the first time the siren has been used since the Cold War.

Beginning Dec. 1, residents and visitors of Hawaii will have to get used to a new part of everyday life for the first time in more than 30 years.

As part of the monthly warning siren tests, state officials are adding the wavering missile attack siren along with the hurricane, tsunami, and earthquake alerts. The last time the state conducted nuclear attack drills was during the Cold War in the 1980s. Continue reading

Secret Russian Hypersonic Nuke Glider Can Pierce Any Missile Defense

Extremely maneuverable, ultra-fast and elusive, the hypersonic Yu-71 can break through any missile defense system, military experts said. Russia has reportedly carried out four tests already. Russia is test-launching a new hypersonic attack aircraft that can carry nuclear warheads and penetrate missile defense systems, US media said citing a report by Jane’s Information Group.

The development of the Yu-71 vehicle took several years, and Russia reportedly conducted the most recent test flight on February 26, with an SS-19 missile trying to deliver the Yu-71 to space. The new hypersonic aircraft is part of Moscow’s plans to modernize its Strategic Missile Forces. Continue reading

March 11, 2012 Iran rattles sabers: ’11,000 missiles ready to launch’ at Israel, US targets

The Iranian newspaper Kayhan reported Thursday that in the first minutes of any American conflict with Iran, “Israel and all U.S. interests around the world will be targeted.”

The newspaper, which is under the supervision of Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, ran the story under the headline “11,000 Missiles Ready to Launch.”

And on Saturday, Tehran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Qazanfar Roknabadi, confirmed during a public roundtable event that the Islamic regime is prepared to attack both Israel and U.S. bases in the region if its nuclear facilities are attacked.

In December it emerged that China sold Iran, for $11 billion, advanced DF-31 ICBMs which are capable of reaching U.S. soil with nuclear warheads. North Korean engineers are helping to get the missile system up and running.

“If the Zionist regime makes such a mistake with military aggression against Iran, it will face Iran’s crushing response,” he warned. “We have prepared ourselves and currently have 11,000 missiles ready to launch at the U.S. and Israel and their interests in the world.”
