SALON DU BOURGET, France — The next addition to Russia’s roster of fighter jets that bridge fourth- and fifth-generation technology may join units as soon as 2019, officials with the MiG Corporation told Military.com here at the Paris Air Show.

The MiG-35, designed to replace MiG-29s rounding out their fourth decade in service, was absent from Paris but will be featured at the MAKS international airshow near Moscow in July as engineers finalize testing on the aircraft, said Anastasia Kravchenko, public relations director for MiG. Still to be determined is whether the fighter will be featured in a static display or aerial demo, she said. Continue reading

For this year’s celebrations, Russia’s Aerospace Forces gave a show of military strength during the military parade in Moscow’s Red Square, with Su-24 and Su-34 bombers, Su-25 attack planes, MiG-29 and Su-27 fighter aircraft, and other aircraft flying over the Red Square. The same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted a reception at the Kremlin; at it, he stressed that the Soviet Union’s “victory… a stern warning to all who would consider challenging us.”

It is worth noting that Putin’s remarks included no mention of the Allied forces, giving the impression that the Soviet Union had defeated Nazi Germany entirely on its own. Continue reading

They were shown by “The Aviationist,” Italian magazine, escorting heavy Russian bombers, including the Tupolev TU-160, the heaviest, fastest and most destructive bomber ever built, on missions no more than 150 km from Israel’s northern border. A year after unveiling the FC-31 stealth fighter, Chinese officials say a production version of the fifth-generation aircraft — the country’s answer to the American-made F-35 Joint Strike Fighter — will fly by 2019, according to multiple news reports.

Li Yuhai, deputy general manager at China’s Aviation Industry Corp., known as Avic, and Lin Peng, the FC-31’s chief designer, were on hand at the Dubai Airshow this week to talk about the program. Continue reading

Russian jet SHOT DOWN by Turkey after it flew into their airspace, according to reports

If proven to be true, it means the possibility of WWIII was just put to the test. Russia is provoking and testing for a response.

A Russian retaliation means an attack on Turkey. An attack on Turkey means an attack on all NATO members according to Article 5. An attack on NATO essentially means an attack on the United States which essentially is the backbone of the organization. You get the picture…

Ironically, the last American aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf is now leaving, leaving a perfect opportunity for adversaries to launch an attack.

A RUSSIAN jet has been shot down by Turkish forces after it flew into the country’s airspace, according to as yet unconfirmed reports circulating on social media.

According to reports, eyewitnesses saw a large explosion in Huraytan, northern Syria, while three fighter jets were hovering above.

One journalist tweeted that three Turkish planes were responding to “mysterious” lock-ons from Mig-29 jets, which are used by Putin’s forces.

Russia and China selling Iran arms to stick it to US: Sina Military

China and Russia are looking to give Iran’s armed forces a boost with fighter jets and defense systems as part of their strategy against the United States, reports the Beijing-based Sina Military Network.

With the US encouraging its allies to gang up on China in the West Pacific and NATO pushing on Russia in the Black Sea and the Barents Sea, the report said, Beijing and Moscow are striking back by investing their efforts in the Middle East and in particular Iran, a country that continues to be a tricky issue for Washington. Out of Control

KIEV/BERLIN (Own report) – Accompanied by protest demonstrations, Kiev’s Prime Minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, will have talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel today, Thursday, on expanding German support to Ukraine. Yatsenyuk is pursuing an arms buildup by all possible means. Observers assume that Kiev is preparing a new offensive in Ukraine’s civil war. It was reported that several NATO countries are involved in arming the country’s military. The German government confirmed back in September that it had satisfactorily complied with Ukraine’s requests including “defensive equipment”. Even trans-Atlantic supporters of Kiev’s February 2014 putsch, are now warning that a considerable rise in the influence of fascist militias and certain oligarchs is threatening to establish an uncontrollable warlord system. Prime Minister Yatsenyuk’s party has particularly taken the lead in supporting right-wing extremist battalions. Yesterday, Yatsenyuk was ceremoniously received by German President Joachim Gauck.

Simferopol (Undefined) (AFP) – Several dozen Russian planes including what appeared to be strategic bombers and fighter jets have been spotted in the sky above the Moscow-controlled peninsula of Crimea, witnesses and experts said.

According to Russian media, President Vladimir Putin is poised to visit Crimea on Friday after overseeing the main military parade on Red Square when Russia celebrates its victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.

A local aviation expert told AFP on Sunday that he had sighted a number of planes over the peninsula’s main city of Simferopol on Saturday, including supersonic heavy strategic bombers and heavy military transport aircraft. Continue reading

Look at what we won in Iraq…

As pointed out in a previous entry, the Middle East has been, and will continue to be a giant proxy playing field for Moscow against the West. Because the West is so naive as to place almost all attention upon the Middle East distraction, Moscow now enjoys the benefit of reclaiming its former empire as well as extending its influence throughout the Islamic world.

WASHINGTON – The Iranian-backed regime of the Shia Iraqi prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, recently has been taking steps to orient his government more toward Moscow and rely less on Washington or any other Western influence, according to Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

The move helps to improve Moscow’s relations with Iraq as well as Iran as it continues to defend Iranian ally Syria. The goal is to preserve the relationship as well as recast its own influence in the Middle East. Continue reading
