A senior Iranian military commander claimed that U.S. officials are quietly encouraging the Islamic Republic to keep its illicit ballistic missile tests a secret so as not to raise concerns in the region, according to Persian language comments.
Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Aerospace and Missile Force, said in recent remarks that the Obama administration does not want Iran to publicize its ongoing missile tests, which have raised questions about the Islamic Republic’s commitment to last summer’s comprehensive nuclear agreement. President Barack Obama has sent two letters to senior Iranian leaders in recent months requesting a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, according to Persian language reports recently translated by a Middle East research organization.
“President Obama asked to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in two secret letters sent in late March to both Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Rouhani,” according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI, which translated a Farsi-language report published Tuesday by a website affiliated with Iran’s Green movement. Ahmad Qadhaf Al-Dam, a cousin of Gadhafi, made the claim in an interview with the Egyptian Dream TV network on Jan. 18. His comments were translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
“It is no secret that these gases exist in Libya,” Al-Dam replied. “To be fair, ISIL is not the only one. Everyone has poisonous gases. It’s not only in Libya. Everybody knows this. The Western countries know this. They have spies [in Libya]. They are the ones who attacked Libya, and then left these dangerous weapons there.” Continue reading →
Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei has the power to at any time cancel the nuclear deal with world powers, analysts said on Oct. 25.
Yigal Carmon, the president of the Washington-based Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), and Ayelet Savyon, the head of the institute’s Iran desk, wrote in an analysis that Khamenei, in a letter to President Hassan Rouhani, essentially granted himself the power to void the deal.
Carmon and Savyon write that Khamenei is ultimately looking to stall implementation of the agreement in order to hurt Iran’s moderates, headed by Hashemi Rafsanjani and Rouhani, and their chances in February 2016 Majlis and Assembly of Experts elections. Continue reading →

Iran has built an active front from Israel’s northern Mediterranean border adjacent to Rosh Hanikra, all the way to the Golan Heights. Mohammad Golpayegani, head of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei’s office, announced to Iran’s official broadcast channel IRINN that President Obama was “knocking on every door” to meet Iranian President Hassan Rouhani during a statement on November 30.
An Obama administration overturned Egypt has lead predictably to a regime more extreme than the last. As a result, the government openly talks about the United States and Israel as Egypt’s enemies, as well as waging war against the two.
An Egyptian official spoke about war with the United States and Israel during a cabinet meeting officiated by President Mohammed Morsi.
Morsi gathered his ministers to discuss a response to Ethiopia’s plan to build a dam on the Nile River.
Iran and its terror proxy Hezbollah are building a military force on Israel’s northern border in the Golan Heights in order to wage “popular resistance” against the Jewish state, according to areport released Tuesday.
Military forces constituted by both Syrian and non-Syrian forces have been amassing near the Golan Heights and are waiting for an attack order, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), which has collected and translated a number of Arab media reports on the matter.
