And here you begin to see the European Army portion of the upcoming United States of Europe literally shaping up courtesy of Germany and it’s Fourth Reich which dominates the EU. They want America and NATO out.

 

BERLIN (Own report) – The German Defense Minister announced new multi-billion Euro armament projects, aimed at Germany’s and the EU’s greater independence from the USA. Ursula von der Leyen announced yesterday that the Bundeswehr would purchase the Medium Extended Air Defense System “MEADS” to replace the “Patriot” air defense system. Whereas the “Patriot” system had to be imported entirely from the United States, a consortium with significant German participation will manufacture MEADS. It is estimated to cost about four billion Euros, with another four billion having been already invested. With MEADS, Germany would achieve more “autonomy in security policy,” according to a CSU party military policy specialist. The German Navy will also receive four MKS 180 multi-role warships worth around four billion Euros, better suited for waging distant wars more effectively and over more extended periods. Other armament projects, such as a German-French battle tank, serve the consolidation of the EU’s arms industries or – as with the “Euro-drone” – are aimed at achieving more independence from the US arms industry. The A 400M Airbus airlifter crash in early May is seen by observers in the context of these efforts to achieve autonomy.

Germany, France to Develop New Battle Tank to Catch Up With Russia’s Armata

 

Germany and France are now preparing to jointly develop a new main battle tank, the Leopard 3, to replace its ageing Leopard 2 military vehicle by around 2030, which would be able to compete with Russia’s next-generation Armata tank, recently showcased at the Victory Day parade commemorating the end of World War Two in Moscow.

The main reason for the modernization is believed to be the Leopard 2 service life, which is set to expire by 2030.

The German media, however, suggest that the real reason is the recently-presented analysis by Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND) on Russia’s reinforced combat strength and its recently showcased T-14 Armata tanks, which were presented during the country’s Victory Parade in Moscow on May 9.

BERLIN/THE HAGUE (Own report) – German politicians, military officials and the media consider the subordination of combat units of other European nations to German Bundeswehr command to be a role model for a future EU army. The integration of a paratrooper unit from the Netherlands into the German Army’s covert operations and counter-insurgency unit of the Rapid Forces Division (DSK) is considered a “milestone of integration.” An armored contingent from the Netherlands will soon be integrated into a German cavalry unit, along the same lines. The European Air Transport Command (EATC) stationed in Eindhoven, the Netherlands – currently under a German commanding officer – is also being praised as an “effective model of cooperation.” According to its own accounts, the Bundeswehr sees the EATC as a clear extension of its “radius of operations,” providing bases stretching “from be the Baltic Sea almost to Gibraltar.”

The structure is set and all it needs is a unifying factor to tie the knot, such as a large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine or a large-scale islamic terrorist attack within Europe. Europe already has a high amount of disdain for NATO and would feel more comfortable without it.

Here we also see how much influence and control Germany already wields within Polish and Dutch military circles.

This is also mainly why Germany wants Great Britain out and the British want out. It’s a matter of sovereignty whereas the immigration ‘issue’ is only an excuse for Merkel wanting to push Britain out should Britain put a halt to it.

 

BERLIN (Own report) – The German government is accelerating the creation of an EU army by means of bilateral military cooperation. The German-Polish “declaration of intent” on military cooperation of the two countries’ armed forces, signed in the middle of the week, is the most recent example. The agreement includes the exchange and joint training of officers as well as “placing combat battalions under the other’s command.” Poland’s military already has more than 130 German-made Leopard 2 battle tanks with another 120 due to be added by 2015. A sales contract to this effect was signed last year, only a few months after an agreement “reinforcing” cooperation between the Navies of the two countries was signed. At the time, German Defense Minister Thomas de Maizière (CDU) spoke of a “totally new quality” in the military cooperation between Germany and Poland. His successor, Ursula von der Leyen (CDU), has gone a step further and had her ministry declare that the intended German-Polish military cooperation is a “trendsetting milestone for the development of European integrated military structures.”

German, French defense companies to merge

VERSAILLES, France, July 2 (UPI) —Two major European Defense enterprises are merging their businesses as early as next year through a joint holding company.

The merger deal is between Germany’s Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Nexter Systems of France, providers of land defense systems.

Millions for Billions

ATHENS/BERLIN (Own report) – New allegations of corruption have been leveled at leading German arms manufacturers. According to a former employee of the Greek defense ministry and several mediators of the arms industry, German arms manufacturers paid millions in bribes to induce Athens to purchase German weaponry, worth several billion Euros. Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Rheinmetall were among the companies named. These deals helped inflate the country’s debts and were, therefore, in part responsible for escalating the crisis. Others, such as Siemens, had also paid millions in bribes to land lucrative contracts from Athens. According to a Greek journalist, who has done extensive research on corruption in Greece, German companies are the “main beneficiaries” of Greece joining the Euro zone because they subsequently profited from highly lucrative Greek government contracts. The sumptuous contracts helped plunge Greece into crisis while they, at the same time, helped the German industry to blaze its trail to the predominant position in Europe.

Persian Gulf states ‘unable to protect themselves’

Despite massive spending on Western weapons, the Arab monarchies of the Persian Gulf are “unable to secure themselves from any external threat” — meaning Iran — and are running up huge public and foreign debt, a Gulf think tank says.

Omar al-Shehabi, director of the Gulf Center for Development Policies in Kuwait, said that even though the defense expenditure of the six Gulf Cooperation Council states is the highest in the world, exceeding the combined military spending of Israel and Britain, they still have to “rely on Western countries to provide military protection and security.”
