Europe is being forced to get more involved in its former colonial territories.

Speaking in Munich on February 20, United States Africa Command (U.S. africom) Gen. Thomas Waldhauser revealed that hundreds of United States troops, including commandos, will withdraw from West Africa over the coming years.

In accordance with the Pentagon’s National Defense Strategy announcement earlier this year, the United States plans to transfer 10 percent of its personnel from Africa to regions which it deems to be of higher priority, to prepare for possible future confrontation with Russia or China. The withdrawal is to be completed by 2022 at the latest, by which time approximately 600 of the 6,000 American troops currently in Africa will have left. Also to be sent elsewhere are about 100 of 1,000 civilian contractors who assist and train local African forces. They will be restationed in regions where the Russian and Chinese threat to American interests is perceived to be more direct. Continue reading

Iran Suspected in Worldwide Cyberattacks

‘Unprecedented’ cyberattacks targeting Western governments and organizations have been traced to hackers in the Islamic Republic.

FireEye, a California cybersecurity and intelligence firm, released a report on January 9 linking Iran to a pattern of cyberattacks dating back to 2017. These attacks targeted nations in North America, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. The report states, “This campaign has targeted victims across the globe on an almost unprecedented scale, with a high degree of success.” Continue reading

Invading Israel

Iran’s war against Israel is heating up rapidly: Iran is moving beyond threats and mobilizing for hostilities.

Jerusalem—On Nov. 13, 2018, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government was on the edge of collapse. In one 25-hour period, the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hamas launched over 400 rockets, missiles and mortars into Israel from the Gaza Strip. It was the largest single-day barrage ever. For those Israelis within range of the missiles, it was the last straw. I spoke to Israelis who experienced the attacks, and most of them emphasized the need to push back against Hamas to stop the incessant fire. Living under the constant threat of war and the stress of having less than 10 seconds to get to a bomb shelter is clearly taking a toll. Continue reading

The Indirect Iran-Israel War Has Become More Direct

‘Iran is now sufficiently emboldened as to directly attack Israel.’

On February 10, an Israeli Army helicopter shot down an Iranian drone that had penetrated Israeli airspace from Syria. With that, a new, dangerous period began in the decades-old war between Israel and Iran. But just how dangerous it was remained largely unclear until the Israeli military allowed the media to report more about it two months later on April 13.

Until February 10, Iran had always attacked Israel via its terrorist proxy entities. But on that day, the world’s foremost state sponsor of terror proved ready and willing to directly send forces against Israel. Continue reading

Empowering the Enemy

The United States has not been a passive bystander in the prophesied rise of Iran and Germany. It has encouraged and aided the astonishing rise of these two world powers.

In the Bible, the book of Daniel describes a spectacular military clash to occur between two major powers right before a horribly destructive global war that will threaten to destroy every last human being on Earth. One is called “king of the north,” and the other, “king of the south” (Daniel 11:40). Plain Truth editor in chief Herbert W. Armstrong identified the king of the north as modern Germany. Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has identified the king of the south as radical Islam, led by Iran.

In this prophesied confrontation, Iran pushes at Germany, prompting the northern king to come against radical Islam “like a whirlwind.”

Yet the most significant part of this prophecy is what it doesn’t say. The world’s lone superpower, the United States of America, is not even mentioned. Why is it missing from this crucial prophecy? Because by the time it is fulfilled, the United States will no longer be a superpower! It will be too weak to factor into these earthshaking clashes.

Iran Won’t Stop Till It Reaches Jerusalem

In a world where leaders rarely say what they mean, Iran’s supreme leader says exactly what’s on his mind.

ERUSALEM—It can be easy to allow the frequent Iranian diatribes against Israel to become cliché. Especially when headlines such as “Iran’s Supreme Leader Backs Holy Intifada to Destroy ‘Cancer’ Israel” or “Israel Is a ‘Cancerous Tumor,’ ‘Fake Nation’” appear so regularly in the news, as they did this week. This type of rhetoric from the Iranian regime has been used so often and for so long that we might be lulled into believing they are mere words. After all, after years of such hateful threats, Israel still exists.

However, every so often, it’s good to remember: This is not just rhetoric: the Iranians really do believe what they say. This is not mere hyperbole; the regime does believe in the destruction of the Jewish state. It really does believe that Israel is a cancerous tumor that it must literally remove from the Middle East. It really does believe that Israel needs to be wiped off the map. The only reason this has not happened already is not because Tehran lacks the will, it only lacks the means. Continue reading

Iran’s Next President Will Be a Hard-liner

How elections and escalating tensions with Donald Trump will make it difficult for Hassan Rouhani to win a second term

Under United States President Barack Obama, Iran benefited enormously by pretending to be moderate. It was the “moderate” nature of Iran’s current president, Hassan Rouhani, that Mr. Obama said provided pretext for the nuclear deal that he implemented with Iran on Jan. 16, 2016. That deal ended powerful economic sanctions and gave Iran billions of dollars in cash.

However, that moderate pretense may not be Iran’s most expedient policy anymore, now that America has a new president. What worked for President Obama is unlikely to work for President Trump. Going up against Mr. Trump will probably force Iran to drop its cloak of modesty and become more overtly confrontational. Continue reading

Iran Is More Powerful Than Ever

A dramatic fulfillment of a forecast made by Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry back in the early ’90s

When Iran test-fired ballistic missiles last week, United States President Donald Trump angrily tweeted that “Iran has been formally PUT ON NOTICE.” The era of American appeasement toward Iran that took place under the Obama administration appears to be over. But, as the Washington Post noted this weekend, the U.S. faces an Iran “that is now more powerful than at any point since the creation of the Islamic republic nearly 40 years ago.”

Iran now stands at the apex of an arc of influence stretching from Tehran to the Mediterranean, from the borders of NATO to the borders of Israel and along the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula. It commands the loyalties of tens of thousands in allied militias and proxy armies that are fighting on the front lines in Syria, Iraq and Yemen with armored vehicles, tanks and heavy weapons. They have been joined by thousands of members of the [Islamic] Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iran’s most prestigious military wing, who have acquired meaningful battlefield experience in the process. Berlin terror attack: Lorry ploughs into crowd of shoppers killing nine, trapping others and leaving 50 injured at Christmas market – with killer driver now on the run

As said dozens of times here throughout the years, Europe will take a hard right political turn. All it needs is a catalyst, or two or three, to set it all off. Europe is already militarizing and you can see that from the EU Army, United States of Europe and Fourth Reich topics, for example. The coming attacks will provoke and provoke until a war starts.

This essentially boils down to the Biblically prophesied King of the North the King of the South  (Likely a German-led United States of Europe versus an Iranian dominated Middle East — both of which you can see shaping up in their beginning stages) situation which is likely building up right now. It will only be a matter of time. That’s where this is heading and that’s what this has been warned here about for years. This isn’t a joke. You’re watching it unfold before your very eyes.

Note: The full article will remain here for archiving purposes.

The vehicle left a trail of devastation in its wake, in a chilling echo of the deadly terror attack in the French city of Nice in July – and comes just one hour after the Russian ambassador was shot dead in Ankara

  • At least 50 injured and nine dead after truck sped through a crowd of shoppers at busy Christmas market
  • Police indicated the incident is likely to be a terror attack as driver is arrested and passenger in cab died
  • Terrified market-goers have tweeted horrifying images from the scene showing the devastating aftermath
  • Heavy goods vehicle – which has a Polish number plate – was racing through the market at 40mph
  • Police in Berlin using Twitter to urge people to stay in their homes as Angela Merkel is ‘mourning the dead’

At least nine people have been killed and more than 50 injured after a lorry ploughed through a crowd of shoppers at 40mph in a busy Christmas market in Berlin.

As German police indicated the incident is likely to be terror related, ISIS moved quickly to claim responsibility for the fatal attack.

The vehicle mounted the pavement before speeding through a crowd of shoppers, tearing through stalls as it travelled the entire length of the market on Breitscheidplatz Square, outside the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in west Berlin. Continue reading

Ethiopia on the Brink?

Could ongoing protests lead to social breakdown?

Civil unrest is growing in Ethiopia, Africa’s second-most populous nation. Upset by inequality and systemic corruption, members of Ethiopia’s two largest districts have taken to the streets. Since November last year, the protesters have faced off against strong government crackdowns.

Eighty percent of the country lives in poverty. Famine threatens 15 million residents. Many are ready to take out their frustrations on the government. But instability fosters its own problems, and opportunists in the region are watching closely.

France and Germany propose EU ‘defence union’

And guess where the focus is: The Middle East, where the Biblically prophesied King of the South (possibly Iran) just might reside. Who leads this? Germany’s Fourth Reich. France, as you’ve seen in years worth of previous posts on Global Geopolitics, including this one, only toes the dominant German line.

Furthermore, with America on its way out as a world superpower, we might be seeing the rise of another via Germany and its collection of subordinate vassal states, which could also as a whole turn into the Biblically prophesied King of the North. This new incoming bloc at the moment is referred to as the United States of Europe. Only time will tell how God chooses to let this play out.

Germany and France have drawn up plans for closer EU defence cooperation, including a new military HQ and swifter deployment of overseas missions.

The ideas were outlined by the two countries’ defence ministers, Ursula Von der Leyen and Jean-Yves Le Drian, in a six-page paper sent to the EU foreign service on Sunday (11 September) and seen by German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung and French daily Le Figaro.

The Franco-German paper says, according to Le Figaro, that “in the context of a deteriorating security environment … it is high time to reinforce our solidarity and European defence capabilities in order to more effectively protect the citizens and borders of Europe”. Continue reading

Enabling the King of the South—Why Barack Obama Never Wanted Regime Change in Iran

In 2009, hundreds of thousands of Iranians protested against their nation’s government over a rigged presidential election. It was a golden opportunity for the newly elected President Barack Obama to denounce the anti-American leadership in Iran and promote a regime change. However, President Obama didn’t just ignore the crisis in Iran, he trusted the government of Iran to handle it and told members of his administration to stop backing leaders of the protests. Why didn’t the president intervene in Iran, like he did years later in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya? Find out on today’s Trumpet Daily Radio Show. Continue reading

Iran’s Past and Future Presence in Latin America

Investigations into past Iranian terrorist attacks in Argentina reveal the extent of its terror network in Latin America and its determination to sponsor global chaos.

On July 18, 1994, a Hezbollah suicide bomber operating under directions from Iran, rammed a truck laden with 600 pounds of explosives into the Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (amia) building—a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires. The ensuant blast killed 85 people and wounded more than 300 others.

Nearly 22 years later, the amia bombing remains as the worst terrorist attack in Argentine history, and it is largely unsolved. But the bombing is arguably the most revealing of the extent of Iran’s terror outreach beyond the borders of the Middle East.

As Iran has expanded and spread its acts of terrorism and its hatred for Jews all over the Earth, even right up to the United States’ backdoor, it simultaneously has worked hard to cover its tracks and present itself as a pragmatic international partner. Terrifyingly, Iran has scored some successes: The world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism is now essentially an ally of the U.S. and the West.

Time will prove that to be a fatal mistake. Continue reading

Iran Wants War. It Is About to Get One.

From 2012 with a lesson for today’s times:

Flush from victories in the ‘Arab Spring,’ Iran is getting pushier and pushier.

Could Iran get any bolder? It seems absolutely bent on starting a war.

On Monday Iran finished off 10 days of naval exercises in international waters near the Strait of Hormuz. In the midst of those war games, Iran’s political and military leaders threatened to retaliate against sanctions by shutting down the strait. It also came to light that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards plan to sow Hormuz with mines. Continue reading

Iran’s War of Terror in Africa

And how will this whirlwind prophecy be done? Likely through a European Army created by the German-led United States of Europe, if it isn’t NATO.

The Islamic Republic’s terrorist reach extends well beyond the Middle East.

Even to the casual observer, Iranian meddling in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Yemen, Bahrain and other Middle Eastern nations is abundantly evident.

Iran is fighting both directly and indirectly against rebel forces in Iraq and Syria. It has tremendous clout in Lebanon via its Hezbollah proxy, and its determination to “wipe Israel off the map” is widely known. Recently, an Iranian general declared that his nation “must make efforts to bring Bahrain back into Iranian territory and transform it into a part of [its southwestern province of Bushehr].” And in the past four months, three Iranian shipments of weapons have been intercepted in the Middle East. The most recent of those arms shipments was intended for Houthi rebels in Yemen.

What’s less apparent, however, is Iranian meddling in Africa. Continue reading
