Obama’s Subtle Undercutting of Israeli Self-Defense

This is precisely why Israel has been told to forget America and prepare for Armageddon.

The Obama administration has turned the United States into an unreliable nation for even its strongest of traditional allies.

The mullahs learned well the lesson that Saddam Hussein learned in 1981 when Israel bombed the nascent Iraqi reactor at Osirak. Days after that attack, then-prime minister Menachem Begin announced the Begin Doctrine – that Israel viewed the development of weapons of mass destruction as an existential threat regardless of the stage of development and would preemptively attack as a means of counter-proliferation.The Begin Doctrine also led Israel to attack and destroy a Syrian site in Deir ez-Zor in 2007. In his memoir, Decision Points, President George W. Bush wrote that then-prime minister Ehud Olmert asked the United States to bomb the site, but that the evidence was insufficient to warrant U.S. action. So Israel did it. Continue reading

Putin warns Israel off targeting Iranian targets in Syria

Know thy enemy behind thy enemies: Russia.

Sunday night, the IDF hit Syrian military targets with powerful Tamuz artillery rockets after two errant Syrian rockets landed on the Golan.

debkafile’s military sources report that they hit the artillery command post of the Syrian army’s 90th Brigade, which is stationed outside Quneitra. Syrian and Lebanese sources say the Syrian deputy commander was injured.

The message the Russian president issued, straight after his meeting with Obama, was that Moscow would not put up with Israeli strikes in Syria, even in response to an attack. Continue reading

Report: Iran’s defenses at nuclear site on alert for Israeli attack

The likelihood of an Israeli strike is higher before the S-300 defense systems are purchased from Russia and deployed.

Iran official: We’ll bolster our military until Israel is overthrown

“The Islamic Revolution will continue enhancing its preparedness until it overthrows Israel and liberates Palestine,” the IRGC’s Tehran province commander, Brigadier General Mohsen Kazzemeini, said in an address in Tehran, the semi-state Fars news agency reported. He also vowed that Iran would maintain its aid to those who fight Israel. “We will continue defending not just our own country, but also all the oppressed people of the world, specially those countries that are standing on the forefront of confrontation with the Zionists,” Kazzemeini said. Sources: U.S. urges Israel to attack Syrian forces threatening CIA-trained rebels in Golan

It might seem here as if the current US administration is baiting Israel into a war. The United States regularly trains ‘rebels’ in various places throughout the Middle East and Africa. Why would these be any more special than the rest that are usually tossed aside after their mission is complete?

LONDON — The United States is pressuring Israel to attack the Syrian military in the Golan Heights.

Western diplomatic sources said the administration of President Barack Obama has urged Israel to stop a Syrian Army advance toward U.S.-trained rebels in the Golan Heights.

The sources said this marked the first U.S. request for Israel’s military to intervene in Syria. They said Obama and his aides had repeatedly warned Israel to refrain from striking Syria, which transferred long-range rockets and air defense systems to Hizbullah in neighboring Lebanon. Iran threat: ‘U.S. military bases will be turned into a slaughterhouse

One shouldn’t dismiss Iran’s remarks as science fiction or some sort of hollow threat with no bite and all bark. The US Military’s logistics in the Middle East region throughout the last 5 years or so has taken a hit as nations are wanting to kick out America and side with the Sino-Soviet axis powers. To get around this, America has had to find a physical way around and has done so to a large extent, but it still prolongs the ETA of personnel — something that can be a decisive and critical factor in war. Combine this with the ‘pivot to Asia’ which has dimished the naval presence in the region and we have a recipe for disaster.

Should an all-out regional war take place, one shouldn’t expect an Iranian invasion, but an Iranian onslaught with tens of thousands of missiles pouring down on American bases — and there hasn’t been any news regarding a deterrance for this. The casualties could be in the tens of thousands, or more. The United States might in fact have the Persian empire surrounded and will likely decisively win a war against it, but Iran won’t go without leaving deep scars. The cost of war against Iran will be costly in blood, politically around the world and economically.

This would also provide justification for China and Russia, along with their allies, to drop the US Dollar and send the US back into the stone age. It’s but one of quite a few scenarious, but plausible.

NICOSIA — Iran has warned of massive retaliation against the United States.

Iranian parliamentarians said Teheran could attack all 32 U.S. military bases in the Middle East and South Asia.

The parliamentarians said the Iranian attack would be launched in retaliation for any U.S. war against Teheran. Continue reading

What Would Happen if Israel Nuked Iran

Given the fact that the Obama administration is using stall tactics just as much as Iran, one shouldn’t be surprised if nukes aren’t eventually pulled out. There’s only so much time before Israel fights for its very existence. Naturally, there would be tremendous backlash from the rest of the world against Israel, and as the Obama administration has made it clear, they’re no favorites of the USA at the moment either. So long as the Obama strategy is to continue allowing the threat to grow, there’s an increasing likelihood of Israel having no choice.

A strike on Tehran could kill an estimated 5.6 million and

injure 1.6 million.

In those first minutes, they’ll be stunned. Eyes fixed in a thousand-yard stare, nerve endings numbed. They’ll just stand there. Soon, you’ll notice that they are holding their arms out at a 45-degree angle. Your eyes will be drawn to their hands and you’ll think you mind is playing tricks. But it won’t be. Their fingers will start to resemble stalactites, seeming to melt toward the ground. And it won’t be long until the screaming begins. Shrieking. Moaning. Tens of thousands of victims at once. They’ll be standing amid a sea of shattered concrete and glass, a wasteland punctuated by the shells of buildings, orphaned walls, stairways leading nowhere.

This could be Tehran, or what’s left of it, just after an Israeli nuclear strike. Continue reading

Pressuring Persia

Retired Adm. Gary Roughead, who stepped down a year ago as the top Navy officer, expressed concerns about the consequences of a U.S. or Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“I think a military strike into Iran would set off a whole set of events,” he said when asked about a possible Israeli or U.S. strike against Iran in the coming years. Continue reading

Top US soldier: “I don’t want to be complicit” if Israel attacks Iran

To answer the question of an earlier post: Will America Forsake Israel?

The answer clearly seems to be yes.

In its bluntest message yet, the US administration under Barack Obama, declared that Israel is on its own if it decides to go for Iran’s nuclear program with a military operation.  Thursday, Aug. 30, Gen. Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, offered the view for the third time in as many weeks that an Israeli attack would “clearly delay but probably not destroy Iran’s nuclear program.”

But this time, talking to journalists in London, he added impatiently: “I don’t want to be complicit if they [Israel] choose to do it.”

Dempsey then astonished his audience by saying he did not know Iran’s nuclear intentions, “as intelligence did not reveal intentions.” What was clear, he said, was that the “international coalition” applying pressure on Iran “could be undone if [Iran] was attacked prematurely.”

Israel, which is in direct line of an explicit Iranian threat of destruction, was therefore publicly slapped down by its best friend. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak and their predecessors were shown to have wasted three years in tireless efforts to solve the Iranian nuclear peril in accord with that friend. Washington has just dumped them.

debkafile suggests that unless Gen. Dempsey spoke off the cuff (unlikely), he would certainly have been obeying a White House directive – even if Washington later issues a softening remark. That directive may have been prompted by information that Israel is on the point of attacking Iran, which Obama would seek to head off.

The latest IAEA quarterly report published Thursday must have seriously embarrassed the Obama administration by making nonsense of its dependence on diplomacy and sanctions. The top US soldier may have been deployed for an authorative answer.
But Iran’s leaders must be laughing up their sleeves at America’s futile efforts to isolate them, as they race toward their nuclear goal while showcasing Tehran as the stage for the Non-Aligned Summit attended by dozens of world leaders.

Iran could recover from attack on its nuclear sites within six months, says U.S. report

Israel finds itself in a very difficult situation ahead: Hit or be hit. Moreover, as the article indicates, the amount of time in peace it will buy before an Iranian recovery is to remain limited. Six months seems to be a worst case scenario whereas a generally reported five to seven years is best case. Combine that with diminished support from a turncoat US administration and the pressure of a closing window of opportunity builds up.

U.S. congressional report says Israel and U.S. do not know exact location of Iran nuclear facilities, which may be dispersed in such a way that an Israeli attack would not be successful.

Iran could probably rebuild most of its centrifuge workshops within six months after an attack on its nuclear sites, according to a new report by U.S. congressional researchers, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday.

Israel’s Grand Strategy

It was a shrewd move to visit the United States at this time. The president is facing re-election, and craves Jewish support. After the election, Obama may prove indifferent to Israel. Extract public support from him now and he will be obligated to “have Israel’s back.” It is difficult to recall an Israeli prime minister visiting Washington with a similar objective – using publicity to pressure a sitting president. In terms of Netanyahu’s future intentions, we may conclude that he means business; that is to say, he is contemplating a strike that could result in a wider war.

What else is behind Netanyahu’s political maneuvering? If Israel could simply bomb Iran and eradicate the Iranian nuclear program, why would Netanyahu need American support? The answer to these and other questions was offered Sunday night by Israeli spymaster Meir Dagan on CBS’s 60 Minutes. Dagan, a former head of Mossad, publicly spoke against an Israeli attack on Iran. “An attack on Iran … is not the right way to do it,” he told 60 Minutes. Dagan believes in low intensity warfare.

Russia upgrades Syria-based electronic station to warn Iran of US/Israeli attack

The Russians have upgraded their Jabal Al Harrah electronic and surveillance station south of Damascus opposite Israel’s Sea of Galilee, adding resources especially tailored to give Tehran early warning of an oncoming US or Israeli attack, debkafile’s US military sources report.

Before it was boosted by extra advanced technology and manpower, the station covered civilian and military movements in northern Israel up to Tel Aviv, northern Jordan and western Iraq. Today, its range extends to all parts of Israel and Jordan, the Gulf of Aqaba and northern Saudi Arabia.
