New US military moves in the Mid-East & Israel’s Syria air raid were coordinated

 

The US hands-off to Iran’s top general in Iraq, Ali Abdullah Saleh’s changeover of sides in the Yemen war and Trump’s’ thinking on Jerusalem – all signal a new, proactive US strategy for the region.

Central Intelligence Agency chief Mike Pompeo was uncharacteristically frank when he addressed high-ranking US military and security officials on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Reagan Presidential Foundation. He revealed that he had sent a note to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Al Qods chief, Gen. Qassem Soleimani, and explained: “I sent it because he had indicated that forces under his control might in fact threaten US interests n Iraq.” Continue reading

‘Ship carrying Iranian weapons en route to Syria’

A ship carrying Iranian weapons was sailing through the Red Sea making its way to Syria, al-Arabiya reported on Saturday, citing opposition sources.

“The ship is said to be carrying 8,500 tons of weapons and ground missiles from Iran to be given to the Syrian regime,” the source said. “It is scheduled to make a ‘fuel stop’ at a Syrian port where it will unload its cargo.” Continue reading

Report: German ship carrying Iranian weapons to Syria stopped at sea

A German ship carrying Iranian weapons was stopped the Mediterranean on Saturday, according to a report by Der Spiegel.

The ship, weighing 6,200 tons, was carrying weapons and ammunition to Tartus, Syria with the aim of arming President Bashar Assad’s forces, the report said.

It docked a few days ago in Djibouti in the Horn of Africa, where it was loaded with weapons supplied by an Iranian cargo ship.

The ship was identified by Syrian defectors, who contacted the German shipping company. The company then ordered the ship to change course, and although it started heading toward Turkey is was eventually halted 80 kilometers southwest of Tartus.
