BEIJING, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) — Chinese scientists have become the first to realize quantum key distribution from a satellite to the ground, laying the foundation for building a hack-proof global quantum communication network.
The achievement based on experiments conducted with the world’ s first quantum satellite, Quantum Experiments at Space Scale (QUESS), was published in the authoritative academic journal Nature on Thursday.
The Nature reviewers commented that the experiment was an impressive achievement, and constituted a milestone in the field. Continue reading

Being that North Korea is a proxy state for China, it’s not likely that the Communist ally would launch a war without permission from their handlers in the CCP. That’s of course not to say it would diminish the likelyhood they’d get the green light as China itself would surely take up preparations long beforehand, for any eventuality as a result.

Border Patrol — China mobilizing troops, jets near Korea
China has placed military forces on heightened alert in the northeastern part of the country as tensions mount on the Korean peninsula following recent threats by Pyongyang to attack, U.S. officials said.
Reports from the region reveal the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) recently increased its military posture in response to the heightened tensions, specifically North Korea’s declaration of a “state of war” and threats to conduct missile attacks against the United States and South Korea.

The Chinese military activities near North Korea were detected in Jilin Province, and intelligence reports from the area on March 19 indicated that PLA forces were ordered to go to “Level One” alert status, the highest level of readiness. Continue reading
