A U.S. Navy warship sailed within 12 nautical miles of an artificial island built up by China in the South China Sea, U.S. officials said on Wednesday, the first such challenge to Beijing in the strategic waterway since U.S. President Donald Trump took office.

The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the USS Dewey traveled close to the Mischief Reef in the Spratly Islands, among a string of islets, reefs and shoals over which China has territorial disputes with its neighbors.

The so-called freedom of navigation operation, which is sure to anger China, comes as Trump is seeking Beijing’s cooperation to rein in ally North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs. Continue reading

Russian fighter jets get close to U.S. destroyer

Apparently the neo-Soviets have a thing for the USS Donald Cook, being that this is their second time harassing it. The first time around, in 2014, they actually shut it down with advanced electronic warfare equipment.

See the following previous post for further details:

What frightened the USS Donald Cook so much in the Black Sea?

Please see the source for the video.

Update: A video of the flyby as it happened:

Update 2: Another new video, different angle:

(CNN) Unarmed Russian fighter jets made two extremely close overflights this week of the USS Donald Cook, sailing in the Baltic Sea, CNN has learned.

Navy officials are not commenting publicly, but inside the Pentagon there is an intense discussion about releasing video and still photos of the Russian encounter to demonstrate the danger the jets posed to the ship, a U.S. official told CNN.

One of the Russian jets flew within 75 feet of the Cook’s ship superstructure.

U.S. warship sails near island claimed by China in South China Sea

WASHINGTON–A U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer sailed within 12 nautical miles of an island claimed by China and two other nations in the South China Sea on Jan 30, in an operation the Pentagon said aimed to challenge efforts to restrict freedom of navigation.

China claims most of the South China Sea, through which more than $5 trillion of world trade is shipped every year. Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines and Taiwan have rival claims.

Type 52 Luyang II guided missile destroyer Jinan

At a time when the US and China are practically at arms over the artificial islands in the South China Seas, with the US sending warships on location to patrol (despite White House Spokesman Josh Earnest saying on Oct. 8 that U.S. warships “should not provoke significant reaction from the Chinese”) and a stunned China responding “What On Earth Makes Them Think We Will Tolerate This“, the last thing we thought we would see right now was three Chinese warships about to port in Florida’s Naval Station Mayport.

And yet according to USNI that is precisely what is about to happen: citing US Navy officials, USNI reports that he three ships about to dock in the US are the Type 052C Luyang II-class guided-missile destroyer Jinan (152), the Type 054A Jiangkai II-class guided-missile frigate Yiyang (548) and the Type 903 Fuchi-class fleet oiler Qiandao Hu (886). Russian planes, U.S. warship have close encounter near Crimea

Please see the source for the video as it has compatibility issues when posted here.

Washington (CNN) The U.S. Navy took the unusual step Monday of releasing video of a Russian Su-24 aircraft flying past the right side of the guided missile destroyer USS Ross in the Black Sea.

The video was distributed to make clear that the airplanes and ship had a routine encounter, contrary to Russian reports. It shows a warplane approaching from the distance and then quickly zooming past the American vessel. Continue reading

Chinese bought division of IBM that manufactures computing servers for U.S. Navy Aegis cruisers

As the Clintons during their 90’s tenure allowed for supercomputers to be sold to China, they used them for nuclear weapons testing, they had knowingly compromised Americas entire nuclear deterrent edge.

In December of last year, the following was stated on Global Geopolitics:

If people thought the ‘barbarians’ were at the gate just during Obama or Bush’s tenure, they couldn’t be more dead wrong and haven’t payed attention one bit. They also weren’t at the gate, but within. Thanks to the Clinton administration, the Chinese military is now on par with America’s and within the next ten years will be superior, also thanks in part to the decimation of the U.S. Military from within via purging of senior officers and budget cuts that are happening now.

Although it’s another story, the Clintons are also largely responsible for the financial crisis of 2008 due to repealing the Glass-Steagall Act in 1999.

What the Clintons did years ago is now coming to fruition. Still, there will always be the oblivious bunch who never saw it coming and couldn’t imagine how it all happened.

America is in both free fall and grave danger.

Thanks to this we now have a dangerous China doing as it pleases and is both politically and economically pushing the United States slowly out of Asia. Militarily pushing America out of Asia can’t be too far behind as they arguably now possess the ability to keep any invader out of their backyard thanks to thousands of missiles stockpiled, satellite killers and aircraft carrier killers, to name a few.

Now fast forward to 2015 and the entire U.S. Navy compromised in one sale.

If people do not understand what is going on now, they will when it’s too late. That’s the tragedy.

…and if you didn’t know already, as mentioned in the article, Forbes is owned by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). When you read it, you are likely being fed the party line.

(NaturalNews) IBM’s decision to sell one of its manufacturing divisions to a Chinese firm could not only damage U.S. national security; it will also cost taxpayers plenty of money.

The American technology giant recently inked a deal with Chinese computer maker Lenovo involving IBM’s division that manufactures servers for the U.S. Navy’s upgraded Aegis Combat System, one of the most formidable nautical offensive and defensive systems on the planet.

According to USNI News (U.S. Naval Institute), the $2.1 billion sale was closed in October, making Lenovo the number three server manufacturer in the world.

That’s just business, right? Continue reading

Russian warships launch drill from Tartus versus US-Israeli-Greek naval exercise

Not 24 hours after Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned that a pre-emptive strike (by the US and/or Israel) would violate international law, Moscow put muscle into his warning: Tuesday, April 3, the Russian guided missile destroyer Smetliviy arrived  in the Syrian port of Tartus from its Black Sea base for a naval exercise. The warship’s support group is on the way.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report that the Russian flotilla carried a threefold message for Washington:

1.  The Russian-Iranian strategy of propping up the Assad regime which has brought the Syrian ruler close to victory over his foes, will continue: Diplomacy will be propelled by military impetus.
2.  Russia is providing the Assad regime with defense systems capable of repelling foreign military intervention.
3.  Consigning the Smetliviy warship to Syria illustrates Moscow’s new rapid response policy: Russia is launching a naval exercise in the eastern Mediterranean to match the “Noble Dina” air and naval maneuver the US, Israel and Greece are conducting across a broad expanse of sea between Crete and the Israeli bases at Haifa and Ashdod.
