WRIST SLAP: NASA Official Fined $250 in Chinese Espionage Case

Glenn Woodell, a NASA supervisor who pled guilty to violating U.S. espionage laws involving a Chinese NASA contractor was given a slap on the wrist with six months’ probation and a $250 fine, the Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

Daniel Jobson, a Woodell colleague and fellow NASA supervisor, had his espionage charges reduced to a misdemeanor and was released without any penalty.

The lenient plea deals were quietly delivered October 26 in U.S. District Court in Newport News, Virginia. The U.S. Attorneys office did not to issue a press release about the deals and declined comment when contacted by the DCNF. Continue reading

Obama administration approved green cards for Iran MPs

NICOSIA — The administration of President Barack Obama has quietly approved permanent residence status to Iranian officials and parliamentarians.

Iranian parliamentarians have reported that scores of senior Teheran regime representatives were issued documents that allowed them to live and work in the United States. They said some of the Iranians also acquired U.S. citizenship.

The letter by the parliamentarians, most linked to opponents of President Hassan Rowhani, did not identify the Iranians provided citizenship or so-called Green Cards, Middle East Newsline reported. But the Iranian media said the letter referred to Rowhani’s chief of staff, Mohammed Nahavandian, educated in the United States and said to have obtained a Green Card in 1993. Continue reading

Number of U.S. expatriations reaches record high In 2013

The Treasury Department published the names of 560 Americans who renounced their citizenship or are long-term residents who gave back their green cards during the third quarter of 2013, The Wall Street Journal reported. According to tax lawyer Andrew Mitchel who tracks the data, these expatriations reached a record high of 2,369 for the year. The prior highest number of published expatriates was in 2011, said Mitchel. Continue reading
