China Accused Of “Huge Hack” Of Thousands Of European Diplomatic Cables

Step side Russia: the new global hacking bogeyman is now officially China.

Just days after the US accused Beijing of hacking hundreds of millions of Marriott accounts and extracting the private data of countless Americans, even as the ongoing diplomatic feud over Chinese “intermediation” in western communications via the likes of Huawei escalates, moments ago the EU unveiled that China was now also the new Wikileaks, accusing hacker tied to China’s People’s Liberation Army of a “huge hack” of its diplomatic cables and reviving fears about vulnerabilities in the 28-country bloc’s data systems. France and Germany have pledged to back the European Commission if it sanctioned Poland next week.

“If the commission thinks it has to trigger the [sanctions] procedure, we have a very clear and consistent position – we’ll support the commission,” French president Emmanuel Macron said in Brussels on Friday (15 December).

German chancellor Angela Merkel said: “If the commission considers it is forced to resort [to sanctions], we would also support the commission”.

The Polish government has accused the European Commission of “arrogance” and of “playing God” in a dispute on judicial reform.

Wednesday’s (26 July) barrage of reactions came after the Commission, earlier the same day, gave Poland one month to address concerns on political interference in the judiciary amid threats of an unprecedented EU voting penalty. Continue reading

Here comes the European Union Army.

The EU’s Soviet sounding – the name doesn’t give away its real purpose – Military Planning and Conduct Capabailities (MPCC) unit has just been set up for training missions in Somalia, Mali, the Central African Republic, some of the world’s most dangerous conflict zones.

The unit was created in rapid time, having only been sanctioned at discreet EU Council meeting in December. Continue reading

France and Germany propose EU ‘defence union’

And guess where the focus is: The Middle East, where the Biblically prophesied King of the South (possibly Iran) just might reside. Who leads this? Germany’s Fourth Reich. France, as you’ve seen in years worth of previous posts on Global Geopolitics, including this one, only toes the dominant German line.

Furthermore, with America on its way out as a world superpower, we might be seeing the rise of another via Germany and its collection of subordinate vassal states, which could also as a whole turn into the Biblically prophesied King of the North. This new incoming bloc at the moment is referred to as the United States of Europe. Only time will tell how God chooses to let this play out.

Germany and France have drawn up plans for closer EU defence cooperation, including a new military HQ and swifter deployment of overseas missions.

The ideas were outlined by the two countries’ defence ministers, Ursula Von der Leyen and Jean-Yves Le Drian, in a six-page paper sent to the EU foreign service on Sunday (11 September) and seen by German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung and French daily Le Figaro.

The Franco-German paper says, according to Le Figaro, that “in the context of a deteriorating security environment … it is high time to reinforce our solidarity and European defence capabilities in order to more effectively protect the citizens and borders of Europe”. Continue reading
