US says bombs reportedly being placed in Germany just upgraded versions of existing weapons in arsenal for decades
MOSCOW — Russia will take “countermeasures” if the US places new nuclear weapons at a base in Germany, the Kremlin said this week.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov’s comments, reported Wednesday by Russian news agencies, came in response to a report by Germany’s ZDF television. The report said that preparation is underway by the US to station B61-12 nuclear bombs at Buechel Air Base in Germany. Continue reading
SWEDEN’S top military commander says Russian fighter pilots are behaving in an increasingly aggressive manner in northern Europe, flying dangerously close to Swedish air force jets and in some cases even releasing flares at them.
