Civilizational Conflict

The world is on edge. Tectonic change is occurring before our eyes. While the shifts are profound it will require historical analysis in the future to sort it all out. However, there are things we know, conditions that are transforming global affairs.

For one thing we are witnessing a dramatic difference in civilizational outlooks. The West is inherently optimistic and eager to embrace the future. Islam, or at least significant elements of it, rejects modernity and wants to return to a simpler time when Islam was on the ascendency. Continue reading

Ya’alon: Europe attacks are ‘World War III’

Defense minister says Israel and European nations are on same side in ‘a clash of civilizations’

Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said Thursday that the deadly bombings in Brussels are evidence of a new world war, which Israel and other countries must fight together.

“We’re in the same boat,” he told Army Radio in an interview. “The world finds itself at the moment in a third world war, or as it has been called, ‘a clash of civilizations’. We must face it together.” Continue reading

Attempts to Undermine Democracies by Present Day Fifth Columnists

Americans have always been uncomfortable with conspiracy theories.

At the start of the Cold War, Winston Churchill warned that Communist Fifth Columnists would seek to weaken democracies by sowing dissent among their citizens. Though widely discredited for his conduct and abuse of power, many of the charges made by Senator Joseph McCarthy concerning Communist infiltration of government would prove to be true when Kremlin files were released after the Soviet Union collapsed.

Political correctness prevails, and many Americans are wary of the term Fifth Columnists and its implications. It is the reason former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was roundly attacked by critics when he questioned whether U.S. President Barack Obama actually loves his country. It raised for public debate what a number of our citizenry quietly wonder, which is not whether Obama loves America, but does he actually like who we are as a society and what are the origins of his agenda to profoundly change America through social engineering. World View: Pakistan Asked to Send 30,000 Troops to Saudi Arabia

Is Saudi Arabia possibly getting ready to shield themselves from attack after potentially dropping the US Dollar in oil trading?

There are not too many other explanations as to why the Saudi regime would do this, other than to head off a threat to the leadership. Iran, while not allies with the Saudis, have very little motive for invading. The only real power in the world with the ability or possible need to overthrow the government for regime change would be the United States.

Before the second Iraq war took place, Saddam Hussein threatened to drop the petrodollar. Dropping the Dollar from oil trade would collapse the economy. Not just from one nation alone, but more would likely follow if one could get away with it.

Pakistan asked to send 30,000 troops to Saudi Arabia

Reports out of Pakistan indicate that Saudi Arabia has asked Pakistan to dispatch 30,000 troops to the Kingdom as part of a bilateral defense agreement that’s currently being formulated in a flurry of visits and meetings between defense and military officials from the two countries. Pakistan’s prime minister Nawaz Sharif said:

“In view of current challenges, there is a need to further strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries and a new era of strategic relationship needs to start.” Continue reading
