In my 2011 book, Currency Wars, I gave a detailed description of the first-ever financial war game sponsored by the Department of Defense.

This financial war game took place in 2009 at the top-secret Applied Physics Laboratory located about twenty miles north of Washington, D.C. in the Maryland countryside.

Unlike typical war games, the “rules of engagement” for this financial exercise did not permit the use of any kinetic weapons such as bombs, missiles or drones.

The only weapons allowed were financial instrument including stocks, bonds, currencies, commodities and derivatives. Continue reading

Obama instead issued veiled warning to Moscow

Despite an unprecedented Russian intelligence operation to influence the 2016 presidential election, former President Barack Obama rejected a plan to conduct retaliatory cyber action against Moscow during the campaign, according to former CIA Director John Brennan.

Brennan disclosed Saturday that Obama opposed a plan to carry out “a cyber event” against the Russians because the former president feared the action would lead to more aggressive interference by Moscow. Continue reading

Outgoing CIA director acknowledges US killed ‘couple of hundred’ Russians in Syria

At a press conference held soon after the armed clash, US Secretary of Defense James Mattis refused to discuss the matter, which he referred to as “perplexing”. Bloomberg said at the time that American officials were “in talks” with Russian counterparts “in search of an explanation for what happened”. On Thursday, however, Pompeo appeared to acknowledge that US troops killed hundreds of Russians in Deir al-Zour. The outgoing CIA director was speaking before a committee of the US Senate, during a hearing pertaining to his nomination to serve as the next US secretary of state. He was making the point that the administration of US President Donald Trump had maintained a hardline policy on Russia. After referring to the recent expulsions of 60 Russian diplomats from the US, Pompeo said: “in Syria, now, a handful of weeks ago the Russians met their match. A couple of hundred Russians were killed”.

The Deep State Closes In On The Donald, Part 1

What is going on in the eastern Mediterranean and over the skies and on the ground in Syria is absolutely nuts; it’s also scary dangerous and utterly unnecessary, too.

After all, the imminent Russian/American military clash is over the skeleton of an artificial backwater nation confected in 1916 by two swells in the British and French foreign offices. At length, what was never a nation anyway has finally been reduced to rubble, misery and sectarian fragments.

So there is nothing to contest now, and, in fact, there never was. The sovereign government of Syria long ago invited the Russians in and Washington out. Period. Continue reading

Obama weakened counterintelligence against foreign spies, Congress told

China is engaged in large-scale theft of American research and technology from universities, using spies, students, and researchers as collectors, experts told Congress on Wednesday.

Compounding the technology theft, the administration of President Barack Obama weakened U.S. counterintelligence efforts against foreign spies by curbing national-level counterspy efforts, a former counterintelligence official disclosed during a House hearing. Continue reading

Intel report: Beijing provides ‘strings-attached funding’ to ‘coerce’ self-censorship

The CIA has issued a classified report detailing China’s far-reaching foreign influence operations campaign in the United States, which imparts financial incentives as leverage to permeate American institutions.

In an unclassified page of the report obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, the CIA cautions against efforts by the Chinese Communist Party to stipulate funding to universities and policy institutes in exchange for academic censorship. Continue reading

America: A Military Nation

Americans like to think of their country as different from those run by military regimes. They are only fooling themselves. Ever since the federal government was converted into a national-security state after World War II (without a constitutional amendment authorizing the conversion), it has been the Pentagon, the CIA, and the NSA that have run the government, just like in countries governed by military dictatorships.

Oh sure, the façade is maintained — the façade that is ingrained in all of us in civics or government classes in high school and college: that the federal government is composed of three co-equal, independent branches that are in charge of the government.

But just a façade. It’s fake. It’s a lie. Continue reading

Is the FBI Plotting its Revenge Over Memo?

A Former CIA Counterterrorism Official Has Told CNN That ‘We’re Going To Win.’

That senior officials in the FBI and intelligence community were outraged by the release of the House Intelligence Committee’s four-page memo on Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant abuse was a given, but a recent guess on CNN suggests the war against President Donald Trump is about to get much worse as a result. CIA warns White House it has 3 months to stop North Korean nuclear blackmail

One important question one should be asking about this warning is if this is coming from the embedded ‘Deep State’ that is working against Trump, and even intentionally withholding information from, with the aim of tricking the President into waging war, or if it’s a genuine and correct assessment. It’s very difficult to tell in today’s political climate.

Kim Jong-Un inspects the Hwasong-15 ICBM.

The Trump administration has a “three-month window” to act before North Korea has the ability, including with nuclear weapons, to strike major U.S. cities, the CIA has warned, according to a former U.S. ambassador to the UN.

John Bolton said that CIA “chiefs” had made the assessment that the Kim Jong-Un regime could make good on its threats of war and “fire” as early as March 2018. Continue reading

US New Moves: War with Iran May Be Much Closer Than We Think

US New Moves: War with Iran May Be Much Closer Than We Think

The US does not intend to end or even curtail its military presence in Iraq (as well as Syria) after the defeat of the Islamic State. It is planning to turn Iraq into a major theater of confrontation with Iran. There are signs that a war with Iran may be much closer than we think.

CIA director Mike Pompeo, an official known for his staunch opposition to Iran, has warned Tehran that the United States would hold it accountable for any attacks it conducted on American interests. Addressing high-ranking US military and security officials on Saturday, Dec. 2, at a defence forum at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute in Simi Valley, California, Pompeo said that he had sent the letter to General Qassem Suleimani, a leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and elite Quds. “What we were communicating to him in that letter was that we will hold him and Iran accountable… and we wanted to make sure that he and the leadership of Iran understood that in a way that was crystal clear,” the CIA director explained. Private Spies: White House Considering Contractors

Private Spies: White House Considering Contractors

President Donald Trump is reportedly considering a “private spies” proposal offered by Blackwater founder Erik Prince that would counter the Deep State’s influence over U.S. national security and foreign policy.

According to a new report, President Donald Trump is weighing a proposal by Blackwater founder Erik Prince and Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North (ret.) that would involve the use of a “global, private spy network that would circumvent official U.S. intelligence agencies.”

The Intercept is reporting the proposal has already made its way to the president’s desk, citing sources it says are well versed in its contents. The report says the plan was pitched as a way to counter “deep state” enemies in the intelligence community seeking to undermine Trump’s presidency. Continue reading
