China’s New Ballistic Missile Submarine Could Change its Prospects in Nuclear War

In the Deep Tropical Seas: The Type 094A, China’s newest nuclear missile submarine, is currently based at Hainan Island, in the underground submarine base at Yulin. It’s under the protection of the South Seas Fleet. [hmmw]

First seen in late November 2016, the Type 094A differs from the previous four Type 094 SSBNs, what with its curved conning tower and front base that’s blended into the submarine hull, possibly to reduce hydrodynamic drag. The Type 094A’s conning tower has also removed its windows. Additionally, the Type 094A has a retractable towed array sonar (TAS) mounted on the top of its upper tailfin, which would make it easier for the craft to “listen” for threats and avoid them. Russian defense analyst Vladimir Tuchkov analyses Russian, Chinese and American developments in hypersonic weapons technology, including the expected timeframe for their deployment, which is sooner than you may expect.

Last week, Tactical Missile Systems Corporation general director Boris Obnosov told Russian media that he was confident that Russia would be introducing hypersonic missiles capable of speeds between Mach 6 and Mach 7 by the year 2020.

The director emphasized that such weapons would significantly weaken the potential of enemy missile defense. “It’s obvious that with such speeds – when missiles will be capable of flying through the atmosphere at speeds of 7-12 times the speed of sound, all [air] defense systems will be weakened considerably.” Continue reading

China upgrading older DF-5A ICBMs with multiple warheads

China’s People Liberation Army (PLA) Rocket Force is upgrading its older liquid-fuelled, silo-based Dong Feng-5A (DF-5A, or CSS-4 Mod 2) intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) to carry multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles (MIRV), according to US government sources. Some 12,000 troops file past President Xi Jinping in Beijing, along with formations of tanks and armoured vehicles as warplanes screamed overhead.

China showed off a new missile reportedly capable of destroying an aircraft carrier on Thursday as it flexed its military muscle with a huge parade marking 70 years since the defeat of Japan in World War Two.

The parade, which was shunned by most Western leaders, witnessed 12,000 troops file past President Xi Jinping, along with formations of tanks and armoured vehicles as warplanes screamed overhead.

China to strike first in hypothetical war with Japan: expert

A hypothetical war between China and Japan started by Beijing would involve devastating cyberattacks, missile barrages and secret weapon DF-21D “carrier killer” missiles, according to a scenario outlined by defense and security blogger Kyle Mizokami in US magazine The National Interest.

In such a scenario, Beijing would likely strike first. While China has not seriously prepared for a war against Japan, the People’s Liberation Army should have sufficiently analyzed Japan’s strengths and weaknesses to draw up a plan of attack on short notice. Mizokami envisions such a strategy to start off with a surprise attack from with PLA’s Second Artillery Corp using a “barrage of ballistic and cruise missiles” to “degrade Japan’s ability to defend itself.”

The situation grows more complex once the US actively involves itself defend Japan, but Mizokami believes the PLA has the firepower to deal enough damage to US forces to force Washington to “cut its losses, throw Japan under the bus, and sue for peace.” Continue reading

China Tests ICBM With Multiple Warheads

This article couldn’t be more spot on when it comes to pointing the origin of today’s Chinese technology. This article just isn’t your run-of-the-mill political jab, but actually fact.

If you’re interested in seeing actual scanned official documents and what as transferred, please see Softwar.net for further specific details. These are official documents requested via the Freedom of Information Act. The site is now defunct as of 1-26-2013 but remains up for an unknown period of time.

If people thought the ‘barbarians’ were at the gate just during Obama or Bush’s tenure, they couldn’t be more dead wrong and haven’t payed attention one bit. They also weren’t at the gate, but within. Thanks to the Clinton administration, the Chinese military is now on par with America’s and within the next ten years will be superior, also thanks in part to the decimation of the U.S. Military from within via purging of senior officers and budget cuts that are happening now.

Although it’s another story, the Clintons are also largely responsible for the financial crisis of 2008 due to repealing the Glass-Steagall Act in 1999.

What the Clintons did years ago is now coming to fruition. Still, there will always be the oblivious bunch who never saw it coming and couldn’t imagine how it all happened.

America is in both free fall and grave danger.

Clinton-era tech transfer aided multi-warhead program

China carried out a long-range missile flight test on Saturday using multiple, independently targetable reentry vehicles, or MIRVs, according to U.S. defense officials.

The flight test Saturday of a new DF-41 missile, China’s longest-range intercontinental ballistic missile, marks the first test of multiple warhead capabilities for China, officials told the Washington Free Beacon.

China has been known to be developing multiple-warhead technology, which it obtained from the United States illegally in the 1990s.

However, the Dec. 13 DF-41 flight test, using an unknown number of inert maneuvering warheads, is being viewed by U.S. intelligence agencies as a significant advance for China’s strategic nuclear forces and part of a build-up that is likely to affect the strategic balance of forces. Continue reading
