U.S. Treasury’s intelligence network vulnerable to hack: audit

Lax security left the U.S. Treasury’s computer system for tracking overseas threats to America’s financial system vulnerable to hackers, according to a government audit prepared in late 2014 and obtained by Reuters.

The Treasury Foreign Intelligence Network is used by U.S. spy agencies to share top-secret information and to keep tabs on the impact of sanctions against countries such as Iran and Russia, as well as militant groups like Hezbollah.

“As a result … devices may not be protected with the most secure recommended configurations, increasing the risk of being compromised,” the Treasury’s Office of Inspector General, or OIG, said. Continue reading

America’s Alice-in-Wonderland Economy

Debt is good, dollar is gold, and stocks only go up—things are getting curiouser and curiouser.

The phrase “mad as a hatter” refers to the 19th-century use of mercuric-nitrate in the making of felt hats. Long-term exposure to mercury caused hatmakers to experience mood swings, tremors and emotional imbalances that made them appear mad.

We live in a world gone mad. Money printing—today’s mercury—has poisoned the whole financial system.

Trusted relationships have broken down. Fundamental truths appear suspect, and economic laws no longer seem to hold true. In America especially, it’s as if the whole economic system fell down a rabbit hole into a world where up is down, debt is good, and people exuberantly celebrate unbirthday parties every day of the year but one.

Russia warns could ‘reduce to zero’ economic dependency on US

A grave mistake is to think that this can’t happen or won’t happen, or that the Russians don’t have the capability. China and Russia have both publicly expressed their unity against the USA and the EU after engineering the chaos running through the Ukraine at this moment. Previously they’ve always been united behind scenes, but as they both grow and advance militarily, economically and politically they can be out in the open about it — especially now that they have been given cause.

China has also previously threatened the ‘nuclear option’ on the US Dollar. For additional information, read the following article: China threatens ‘nuclear option’ of dollar sales

The USA, which is drunk off its own power, becoming more corrupt daily and rotting from within might have to face a grave and sobering reality — and sooner rather than later. America is not untouchable.

Europe also faces the same fate as the Heizung can be turned off at any given moment. You’ll also likely see a united Europe like never before as a result, unlike America where its current administration keeps drawing a new line in the sand each time it back-peddles.

Moscow (AFP) – Russia could reduce to zero its economic dependency on the United States if Washington agreed sanctions against Moscow over Ukraine, a Kremlin aide said on Tuesday, warning that the American financial system faced a “crash” if this happened.

“We would find a way not just to reduce our dependency on the United States to zero but to emerge from those sanctions with great benefits for ourselves,” said Kremlin economic aide Sergei Glazyev.

He told the RIA Novosti news agency Russia could stop using dollars for international transactions and create its own payment system using its “wonderful trade and economic relations with our partners in the East and South.”

Russian firms and banks would also not return loans from American financial institutions, he said.

“An attempt to announce sanctions would end in a crash for the financial system of the United States, which would cause the end of the domination of the United States in the global financial system,” he added. Continue reading

Russian lawmaker wants to outlaw U.S. dollar, calls it a Ponzi scheme

MOSCOW — Predicting the imminent collapse of the U.S. dollar, a Russian lawmaker submitted a bill to his country’s parliament Wednesday that would ban the use or possession of the American currency.

Mikhail Degtyarev, the lawmaker who proposed the bill, compared the dollar to a Ponzi scheme. He warned that the government would have to bail out Russians holding the U.S. currency if it collapses.

If the U.S. national debt continues to grow, the collapse of the dollar system will take place in 2017,” said Mr. Degtyarev, a member of the nationalist Liberal Democrat Party who lost in Moscow’s recent mayoral election. Continue reading
