Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has achieved his dictator status which was his long-held ambition to expand his powers after the referendum handed him the reins of supreme power. However, the integrity of the vote is seriously questioned and the slim victory of just 51.4% approving a series of constitutional changes converting Turkey’s political system from a parliamentary to a presidential one, means there is going to be tension in Turkey looking forward. There will be no real checks and balances in place.

The opposition parties naturally called for the vote to be annulled because of a series of irregularities, The electoral board decision to accept ballots that did not bear official stamps has really called into question did the people really vote for this dramatic change. Continue reading

The Arctic is shaping up to be one of the most strategically important regions in the 21st century. However, the United States has fallen far behind in building the specialized ships necessary to traverse the region’s treacherous waters.

On June 10, Russia launched its first new military icebreaker in half a century. The Ilya Muromets, a diesel icebreaker displacing 6,000 tons, will now begin supporting Russian naval operations in the Arctic.

Just days later, the Ilya Muromets’ launch was upstaged when Russia floated the largest icebreaker in history. The nuclear-powered Arktika displaces 33,500 tons and is the first of three planned hulls.

Russia even plans on adding two icebreaking patrol ships armed with cruise missiles by 2020.

Of course this will eliminate poverty wages because it’s designed to kill businesses, therefore there will technically be no poverty wages. Even college finance students know wage hikes have to be covered somehow otherwise the business is liquidated.

The city of Los Angeles ruled to hike the minimum wages by 30% in less than 5 years, a move rendering local businesses less competitive and sustainable, while benefitting unions, illegal aliens and governmental bureaucrats.

Kristian Rouz – On Saturday, the mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti enacted the law, authorizing an increase in the city’s minimum wage from the current $9/hr to $15/hr by the year 2020.

In a long-term perspective, such a move has potentially hazardous consequences, possibly undermining the economic competitiveness of LA-based enterprises, and disrupting business activity in the city. Continue reading
