A Former CIA Counterterrorism Official Has Told CNN That ‘We’re Going To Win.’
That senior officials in the FBI and intelligence community were outraged by the release of the House Intelligence Committee’s four-page memo on Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant abuse was a given, but a recent guess on CNN suggests the war against President Donald Trump is about to get much worse as a result.
During Friday evening’s episode of the “The Situation Room” with Wolf Blitzer, former CIA counterterrorism official Phil Mudd gave the warning, saying that rank-and-file agents of the FBI oppose the nation’s “leadership.” He also added:
“The workforce is going to look at this and say, this is an attack on our ability to conduct an investigation with integrity. There are hundreds of agents and analysts working on this investigation. It’s not just Christopher Wray, the FBI Director.
“So, the FBI people—I’m going to tell you—are ticked, and they’re going to be saying—I guarantee it, ‘You think you could push us off this because you can try to intimidate the director, you’d better think again, Mr. President. You’ve been around for 13 months; we’ve been around since 1908.’ I know how this game is going to be played, and we’re going to win.”
Mudd’s comments would be the first from someone within the Deep State acknowledging their efforts against the president. Meanwhile, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) has said the memo released Friday was the end of “Phase One,” and “Phase Two” will involve an investigation into the State Department and its role.
Also, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley’s office has confirmed to TruNews that he also has a memo regarding abuses in the FBI, but it has not yet been declassified by the intelligence community. Not surprisingly, there is no timetable for that document’s release.
