(VERO BEACH, FL) The warning messages began on April 20th according to a Pyongyang resident who spoke to Radio Free Asia, and it advised Korean-Chinese residents to return home amid concern that Kim Jong-un’s recent threats may entice a U.S. preemptive strike on North Korea.
“The embassy has never given such a warning,” said the unnamed man. “I was worried and left the country in a hurry.”

The man added that most Korean-Chinese residents in Pyongyang were ignoring the message, and credited the city’s unduly “peaceful” atmosphere and a collective ignorance to current events for their decision to stay.
The embassy’s warnings begun five days prior to North Korea’s celebration of the 85th anniversary of the Korean People’s Army and five days after the military display included in Pyongyang’s “Day of the Sun”, a parade which included what appeared to be submarine launched ballistic missile units and North Korea’s crack special forces soldiers
