HUNDREDS of US tanks and trucks arrived in Europe yesterday as part of a NATO build-up near Russia’s borders.
The vehicles arrived in the German port of Bremerhaven [sic] and will now be transported by rail and road to eastern Europe.
It comes amid growing fears that war-hungry Russian president Vladimir Putin could trigger an all-out global conflict.
US and Polish forces will participate in a large ‘massing’ exercise in Poland at the end of the month.
And the UK, Germany and Canada are sending battalions of up to 1,000 troops each to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Washington insists the four battalions will be backed by additional US forces on rotation for the “foreseeable future”.
Among their equipment will be 87 Abrams M1A1 tanks, 20 Paladin artillery vehicles and 136 Bradley fighting vehicles.

Washington speed [sic] up the deployment of its troops to the region after Donald Trump was elected president in November.
The outspoken Republican, who takes offce on January 20, has repeatedly called for improved relations with Russia.
And he is sceptical of NATO, telling supporters last year: “It’s possible that we’re going to have to let NATO go.”
