Vietnam, Customs Union may sign free trade agreement in early 2015

HANOI, December 15. /TASS/. The Customs Union (Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan) and Vietnam have finalised discussions on draft agreement on free trade; they may sign the document in early 2015, Russia’s trade representation told TASS on Monday following the 8th round of consultations between the parties.

The agreement introducng zero import duty will boost economic cooperation between Vietnam and the Customs Union. According to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the annual trade turnover by 2020 may approach $12 billion, which is fourfold bigger than the present rate.

Vietnam will enjoy special terms for import of necessary goods – fertilisers, natural gas, and products of heavy industry.
