Canada and China pledge to boost military ties

Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan met with Yvan Blondin, the visiting commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force, on Monday, with both vowing to enhance bilateral military relations.

China attached importance to developing cooperation with Canadian armed forces, the minister said. He stressed that the Chinese military is willing to boost ties with the Canadian side on the basis of “equality, moderation and sustainability.”
